Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1487

Katie nervously swallowed and forced a grin. "Oh, come on, Kaylee! How could I ever deceive you? I was just thinking about the chocolate cupcakes from Duo Delights Bakery; they're really good. I'll grab some for you to try while I'm there!"

"Oh, is that so…" Helen replied, her smile more of a grimace. "Well, that's very thoughtful of you. Now, off you go! Make sure you're back before dark."

Knowing she had no choice but to comply, Katie grabbed her wallet and hurried out the door.

Helen turned to Diana with a cheerful grin. "Aunt Diana, don't just stand there. Time to get moving, wouldn't you say?"

Diana rolled her eyes and reluctantly shuffled off to the kitchen in her slippers.

After two hours, Katie finally arrived in Eastvale, only to find a long line snaking outside Duo Delights Bakery. She had no choice but to join the queue at the back.

By the time she finally bought the cupcakes, three hours had passed, and dusk was approaching.

Just as she was about to head back, she ran into some familiar friends.

"Katie? Are you here to check out Duo Delights Bakery too?" one of them exclaimed, stepping in front of her and reaching for the box in her arms. "Perfect! We don't have to wait in line. Hand it over so we can snap some pictures!"

"Oh no, that's not happening!" Katie quickly tucked the box behind her back, forcing a smile. "I can't let you touch these. If you do, I might not make it out alive today!"

"Come on, Katie! Why are you making such a fuss over a few cupcakes? If you don't want to share, just say it—there's no need to act like it's a matter of life and death!" another friend pouted.

"It's not that I don't want to, but Kaylee is back, and she's insisting on having the cupcakes from here. If I don't get them for her, I'm going to be in big trouble!" Katie frowned, looking utterly helpless.

"Hey, that's a brilliant idea!" Katie said, her eyes sparkling with renewed hope.

Jenson had been waiting eagerly at the entrance of West Hill Resort. As soon as he spotted Taylor's car pulling up, he waved excitedly and rushed forward. "Finally, you're here!"

When the car came to a stop, the passenger door swung open. Taylor stepped out in a stylish outfit and flashed him a playful salute.

Jenson returned the gesture, but just as he moved closer, the other door swung open and almost hit him. Abigail stepped out, sunglasses in place, making a stunning entrance.

Jenson's jaw dropped in disbelief. He quickly pulled Taylor aside and whispered in frustration, "I thought you were coming alone! Why did you bring her?"
