"So you see, we can't let such a valuable supply channel go to waste," Helen said, a clever smile forming on her lips.
Kendrick looked even more bewildered. With all this inventory piling up, why was Helen considering restocking?
He couldn't shake the feeling that she might have lost her mind.
…
The next day, all C&S Signature Jewels locations in Aguilisco and Glendale closed their doors simultaneously.
This decision sparked extensive media coverage and raised consumer concerns, causing many to flock to Cunningham Jewelry instead.
Before long, Cunningham Jewelry's main store was overflowing with customers.
As Fiona gazed down at the bustling crowd below, a triumphant smile crossed her face. "See? All the customers are here with me. It won't be long before Helen's jewelry store goes bankrupt, and then I'll take her other businesses one by one!"
Zac let out a deep sigh, narrowing his eyes as he surveyed the scene. "I can't shake the feeling that everything's going a bit too smoothly; it all seems a little suspicious."
"Why do you always have to rain on my parade?" Fiona replied, shooting him an exasperated look. "This is a hard-won victory for us. Can't you just be happy for once instead of ruining the mood?"
"Alright, alright, you win, Ms. Cunningham; I'm obviously outmatched," Zac conceded, choosing to let it go.
As he turned back to the crowd, his gaze suddenly locked onto a familiar figure.
In the throng of customers, a man tapped Kendrick on the shoulder just as he was about to make a purchase. "Hey, aren't you Mr. Kendrick Hart? What are you doing here?"
"Sir, would you like to pay by cash or card?" the cashier interjected.
"Card," Kendrick replied, quickly pulling out his wallet and handing her his credit card.
Just as the cashier was about to take it, a hand shot out from the side, snatching the card away.
Kendrick turned to see Fiona glaring at him, her face flushed with anger.
"Hi, Ms. Cunningham! What a surprise to see you here!" he said, forcing a sheepish grin as he stood up.
"Who let you in?" Fiona shouted, completely disregarding decorum. "Get out!"
