Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1459

"Isn't that a bit much, Ms. Cunningham? I'm just here to shop. It doesn't make sense to chase away a customer," Kendrick said, standing up and calmly buttoning his suit jacket.

"I don't care if you're a customer or the owner. I call the shots here, and you need to leave. If you don't, I'll call security!" Fiona retorted, her eyes blazing with fury.

Kendrick pursed his lips and pointed at the card in her hand. "Can you at least give me my card back? Are you really trying to rob me in broad daylight, Ms. Cunningham?"

As Fiona glanced at the card, her expression soured. With a flick of her wrist, she tossed it back at him. "As if I'd want your worthless card! Take it and get out of my sight!"

Kendrick tucked the card into his pocket and smoothed down his clothes. "We're in the same industry, so why make things hostile? A friendly atmosphere encourages business—there's enough money for everyone!"

"You're just Helen's lapdog, so who do you think you are talking to me like that? If you don't get out of here right now, don't blame me when I have you thrown out!" Fiona crossed her arms, her arrogance palpable.

Kendrick's temper flared at her insults. Narrowing his eyes, he replied sharply, "You might be able to handle me, but what about everyone else? Just think about how many of my people are in this store. Even if I'm not here, I could still clear out Cunningham Jewelry in no time!"

Fiona's expression shifted uneasily as she looked at the customers, suddenly seeing them as potential threats.

At that moment, an assistant leaned in and whispered to Fiona, "Ms. Cunningham, the person at counter two is wearing a C&S Signature Jewels uniform. And the person at counter 12? I recognize her from my investigation at their store!"

Fiona's anger flared instantly. "Guards!"

The bodyguards stationed outside swiftly pushed through the crowd. "Yes, Ms. Cunningham, what can we do for you?"

"Get that man and that woman out of here—immediately!"

Fiona's eyes burned with fury, highlighting her intense desire to eliminate the intruders evident. Telling them to leave was a surprising act of restraint on her part.

The bodyguards moved swiftly to carry out her orders, approaching the two with a threatening demeanor.

Afternoon soon arrived. After addressing the issue with the customers, Cunningham Jewelry issued a notice stating that they would temporarily close for business.

With both major jewelry brands out of the market, a brief period of stagnation followed. On the bright side, it provided much-needed relief for smaller vendors.

Ursula left Newton Residence early for a job interview.

Once she was gone, Hobart gathered everyone together and earnestly said, "Sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to take this chance to plan a surprise for Ms. Gabin and confess my feelings. If you have some time, could you help me set up the scene?"

Adrian paused, momentarily surprised by Hobart's declaration. With a hint of sarcasm, he replied, "A surprise? Are you sure it's not more of a scare? How do you know Ursula will even say yes?"

"Exactly," Priscilla added, believing Adrian was finally coming around. "You've only known her a few days. Things are moving too fast—you really should take the time to get to know her better before making a move."
