The few people exchanged glances and unanimously agreed to take Rainey and Cameron away.
On the other side, Bentley was leaning against his car at the entrance of the University of Glendale. When he caught sight of Phishie at a distance, he waved at her. "Here."
Phishie walked over slowly and teased, "Why would an unsentimental man like you think of organizing a gathering?"
"I'm not unsentimental," Bentley refused to admit it. "Do you need a reason to gather? Friends should meet up and have fun from time to time."
Phishie understood and nodded, but she remained silent and waited for him to elaborate. As expected, he opened up in the next moment.
"To be honest, there is really a reason for today's gathering." Bentley explained, "Madelyn was quite unhappy at the mention of my boss in the past few days.
"I think they had a fight, so I figured we could go out and relax together. Maybe we could persuade her when we come back."
"I'm surprised that you even know these." Phishie was implying that she sensed something unusual between him and Madelyn.
"Come on, we are all friends; I can't just stand aside and do nothing. If I hadn't cleaned up the mess behind Tommy, who knows how much trouble he'd caused with his bad temper?
"Of course, I'm not saying that my boss is bad-tempered; I'm just making an example. It's not just my boss; I won't turn a blind eye to anyone who is in trouble," Bentley said seriously.
"I know." Phishie let out a sigh, realizing she had been overthinking it. In this guy's eyes, friends had no gender. Everything he did was because of loyalty among friends.
Before long, Madelyn arrived and exclaimed, "Great, Phishie is also here."
Because of Helen, Madelyn and Phishie had hung out a few times in private and had become very close. As soon as they met, they linked arms and leaned closer together.
"What's on today's agenda?" Madelyn asked Bentley.
"I'm okay with it," Mason replied nicely.
"Then I'm going too." Bentley loved to join in on the fun.
Mason was clearly hostile toward Bentley—his expression turned cold, and he didn't respond, making the atmosphere a bit awkward. However, Bentley didn't pick up on it, so they ended up going together.
They came to a VIP lounge of a high-end club where Mason was warmly welcomed upon entering.
"Hey, the top student is finally here. We have been waiting for you for a long time."
"Sorry, sorry. I'm late because I'm caught up with something. It'll be my treat today; just order whatever you want and have a great time." Mason waved his hand and called a waiter over.
"Bring another bottle of champagne and two bottles of whiskey. You can choose some other drinks for us."
