Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1364

As Augustine followed Adam's gaze and spotted Helen, a smug smile lit up his face.

"Mr. Lescher, meet the brilliant calligrapher I mentioned—Helen Spencer. She's also a finalist," Augustine announced, pride lacing his words.

"What?" Adam exclaimed, a mix of amusement and disbelief coloring his tone. "Helen is competing?"

It seemed absurd that someone meant to judge was now a contestant, as if fate were teasing them with this unexpected turn.

"In that case, let's invite Ms. Helen Spencer to critique—" Adam paused, glancing at Augustine. "What's her name?"

"Sadie Fletcher," Augustine replied.

"Got it," Adam replied with a nod, leaning in to adjust the microphone. He addressed the audience, saying, "Please welcome Ms. Helen Spencer to the stage to critique Sadie Fletcher's work!"

Sadie's expression hardened. How could Helen, a mere student who wasn't even part of the Calligraphy Association, have the right to critique her work?

Despite her frustration, she understood there was nothing she could do; Adam had made his decision, and she had to hold back her anger.

Upon hearing the familiar voice over the loudspeaker, Helen turned to the podium and locked eyes with Adam. A fleeting moment of joy passed between them, reminiscent of old friends reuniting after a long time apart.

With a wry smile, Helen made her way to the stage.

The host passed her a small whiteboard and a marker. Turning to the audience, he took on a suspenseful tone. "Now, let's see how many points Ms. Spencer will give Ms. Fletcher for this work!"

After a brief pause, Helen confidently wrote a "1" on the board and turned it toward the audience and the camera.

"One point?" The host's shock was palpable as he questioned his own eyes. Clearing his throat, he tactfully added, "Ms. Spencer, are you sure you didn't mean to add another digit?"

"No, I didn't," Helen replied, casting a serious glance at the whiteboard. With an innocent tone, she continued, "This one point reflects her effort. If I were to evaluate her calligraphy skills, the score might be even lower."

Sadie clenched her teeth in fury. What did Helen mean—was she implying that her calligraphy was worthless?

"Augustine!" he sneered, turning to Helen's sponsor. "Is this really the person you're backing? She certainly has some nerve, doesn't she?"

Augustine waved his hand dismissively, disgust evident on his face. "Your breath is the real arrogance here. Maybe you should freshen up."

"You!" Dylan exclaimed, his eyes wide in disbelief.

This was completely absurd.

"Just wait—once Sadie wins the championship, we'll see how cocky you are then, Augustine!" Dylan thought to himself.

On stage, Helen grabbed the microphone from the host and turned to the judging panel. "Mr. Crawford and Mr. Lescher, what do you think of the score I gave?"

The host eagerly chimed in to escalate the situation. "That's right! Sadie's work hasn't even been scored yet; let's hear from both gentlemen!"
