Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1299

"Yes." Helen nodded firmly.

"Huh? A counterfeit? How is that possible? How could Ezra buy a counterfeit?" The crowd discussed among themselves, expressing their skepticism.

Ezra was confident as he retorted sarcastically, "My paintings have undergone professional authentication. Do you think you can get away by claiming it as a counterfeit?"

"Be patient. Since I dared to say so, I have my reasons. I have also brought the real masterpiece of Ms. Quarto.

"Aren't you going to take a look, Mr. Westbrook?" Helen deliberately threw out a lure to shift Ezra's attention.

After a moment of pondering, Ezra finally relented, "Fine, I'll see what you're up to. Go get the painting; I'll be waiting here."

"Please wait a moment," Helen said with a smile. She glanced at Ashley to reassure her before pulling Chandler away.

"Wait a minute," Ezra called out to her. "You two are together; you're not planning to trick us into staying here while you escape, are you?"

Helen frowned. "Mr. Westbrook, wouldn't it be nice to have more trust between people?"

Ezra shook his head, indicating that he would not let them leave together.

"You're so troublesome," Helen complained under her breath, then she walked over to take Ashley by the hand. "I'll go with her and leave my husband here; is that alright?"

Chandler was bewildered.

Ezra nodded and agreed impatiently, "Hurry back."

"Don't waste time. The paints are running out; don't just stand there," Helen instructed seriously.

Only then did Ashley snap back to reality and hurry over to mix the colors and pass the brushes.

Ten minutes later, a vivid "Peony Fantasia" was completed.

Even though Ashley was not familiar with watercolor painting, she was still amazed by the lifelike peonies. "Helen, you…"

Helen put down the eight brushes on the table and stretched her body, casually answering, "It looks similar, right? Let me tell you, my ancestors used to sell counterfeit paintings.

"As for me, I specialize in copying works by modern artists. I'm very familiar with 'Peony Fantasia' by Ms. Quarto."
