Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 989

Samantha was taken aback, not expecting Jameson to have such thoughts.

They had once dated for a year, making him one of her few longer-term ex-boyfriends. As a doctor, Jameson was detail-oriented and treated her with great care. But they ultimately broke up for a simple reason—they spent too much time apart.

Samantha's work as an actress required constant travel, and she sometimes spent up to three months on a film set in different locations around the world. Meanwhile, Jameson's job as a doctor kept him busy at the hospital, with few opportunities to visit her, let alone accompany her on her travels.

Their long-distance relationship took a toll. Often, when she felt tired and needed company, he was either performing surgeries or sleeping due to time zone differences. Over time, their connection weakened.

Many of Samantha's relationships ended for similar reasons. They were loving relationships that faded with time and distance.

But Shaun was different. As a businessman, he could make money wherever he went. Whenever Samantha had a film shoot, he would follow her and find business opportunities nearby.

One time, she was filming a show in a remote mountain area, where it was difficult even to get a car in, let alone other amenities. The living conditions were harsher than she had anticipated, with limited electricity, no hot water, and certainly no heating.

Samantha assumed that Shaun, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, would be unable to endure such conditions and would opt out. Not only did he come, but he also helped build a road and arranged to sell the villagers' tea, supporting the locals while spending time with her.

Realizing she was thinking of Shaun again, Samantha rubbed her face, trying to push him out of her mind.

Noticing her silence, Jameson quickly added, "You don't need to answer me right away. We can take things as they come. I'm planning to resign from the hospital. If possible, I'd like to be your personal doctor and stay by your side."

As Samantha walked up the driveway, she could see her parents standing by the door, looking her way curiously.

Seeing this rare nosy side of her parents made Samantha chuckle. "What are you two doing?"

"Samantha, what did you two talk about?" Millie eagerly stepped forward.

She had noticed Jameson's delighted expression from afar. Could it mean a chance for the two of them to get back together?

She had always liked Jameson. He was an expert in medicine, mature, and, most importantly, he was attentive and caring. Samantha was her only daughter. Millie naturally hoped she would find someone who could cherish her deeply rather than someone who was only interested in their family's wealth.
