After checking the time, Hera asked, "Don't you think being half an hour early is a bit too much?"
The bar opened at eight, but there weren't many customers around. Even the singers had just arrived, and the musicians had only started tuning their instruments. The bartenders were cleaning up the place, and they asked Hera and Samantha to have a seat first when the two entered the bar.
Hera and Samantha found a spot in the corner of the bar and sat down to wait. In response to Hera's question, Samantha said, "I want to give Mr. Diamond a good impression, and I want to make preparations. Do you think this spot is good enough?"
That said, she combed her fingers through her hair and smoothened her dress. The light from the decorative lights hung on an indoor plant fell on Samantha, making her smile look sweeter.
"You look pretty." Hera was never stingy when it came to compliments. "What kind of preparations do you mean?"
"You'll find out soon enough." Samantha then asked the waiter to have their boss come over to the table.
The waiter recognized Samantha, and soon, the boss of the bar came to see them.
Samantha said, "I'd like to reserve this table and the ones around it. My friend will arrive at 8:00 pm. Make sure that no customers take these seats. I'll pay for those who sit at the tables farther away from mine, but I don't want them to make a ruckus if they see or hear anything."
Samantha took out her card and handed it to the boss, who recognized Samantha. He knew how to do business with famous figures since many stars came to his bar to drink when they were on vacation.
It was easy to make money from the rich.
The boss nodded eagerly. "Consider it done. We'll settle everything for you, so don't worry. Our security can help you make sure that no reporters are around if you want us to."
"That would be great." Samantha was very satisfied with the service provided at the bar. "I'm very pleased with your service. Two is my lucky number. I'll pay the bills for the second customer to come in, as well as the 12th, 22nd, 32nd, and so on."
Samantha dragged Hera out of the bar. They had just stepped out of the place when they bumped into Bernard and Shaun.
The four of them locked eyes with each other.
Shaun froze, stunned to see Samantha without any makeup on. He knew that she paid special attention to her appearance and that she always wore makeup before going out. He was fine with Samantha putting on makeup, but he liked it the most when she had no makeup on.
This was the first time he had seen her without makeup outside, so he was actually quite astonished.
Samantha, too, froze when their gazes met. Shaun dressed casually today. The fabric of the clothes he wore was coarse, not fitting his status at all. But thanks to his good looks and figure, he made the cheap clothes he wore look fashionable.
Still, Samantha wasn't in the mood to admire his choice of clothes. At that moment, she cursed under her breath, "Things couldn't have gotten worse! Why did he have to show up tonight?"
