Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 979

Over at the mansion, Shaun was going through his luggage in the guest room, trying to pick a suit that suited the occasion. He didn't bring much clothes with him this time. He only brought two suits, one red and the other gray.

"Bernard, which one should I wear tonight?" he asked, showing Bernard the clothes. "Give me some suggestions."

Bernard glanced at the clothes in Shaun's hands, which were both tailormade. Then, Bernard called for Douglas.

Bernard succinctly explained that Shaun was going to meet a friend tonight and that he had to pretend to be poor.

Bernard said, "Tell Shaun how a security guard who makes three grand a month would dress."

Although Douglas didn't work as a security guard before he became Bernard's assistant, he had worked as an assistant in a small company. Back then, his wage didn't even exceed three grand. Therefore, Douglas knew very well what it was like to earn so little.

"Mr. Thompson, a security guard who makes just three grand a month won't be able to afford a suit made from such exquisite fabric nor have a suit tailor-made," Douglas stated plainly.

Shaun was puzzled now. "Well then, how should I dress?"

"Hold on," said Douglas, and he headed outside for a bit.

A moment later, he returned with a white singlet and a pair of blue pants with flower prints. He probably bought them from a stall at the beach.

Shaun reached for the clothes. The fabric was coarse, and his expression shifted because of it.

"The cloth is so coarse," he said. There was a hint of disdain in his voice. "Are you sure they're wearable? Will I get an allergic reaction after wearing these?"

"I'm sure that an ordinary person who makes three grand a month won't get an allergic reaction," said Douglas.

Douglas unlocked his phone and looked up some reviews about different drinks served at the bar Shaun was going to that night. "This is what you call a discount."

Shaun had never been bothered about reviews. Such things were new to him. He said, "Hold on. Let me try looking this up myself."

Douglas nodded. "If you're a corporate slave and you're hungry, you'll read lots of reviews of restaurants on different websites before going out for lunch or dinner."

Shaun nodded, digesting the information. After a few minutes, he finally got the hang of it.

Douglas even taught Shaun how to compare the prices between different websites and how to get more discount vouchers. The longer Shaun listened to Douglas, the more his head hurt. Why was grabbing something to eat so difficult for a corporate slave?

When night fell, Samantha urged Hera to get ready to head to the bar because she wanted to arrive earlier.
