Eventually, Samantha gave up on sleeping. She got up from bed and opened her wardrobe to pick out the clothes she'd wear to meet Mr. Diamond tomorrow night.
She was awake all night and started feeling drowsy only at dawn. After she lay down to get some rest, she slept until it was noon.
After lunch, Samantha led Hera to her bedroom.
Mr. Diamond said they'd meet at nine at a small bar at the beach. The bar was probably the only place that wasn't closed then.
An enthusiastic Samantha asked, "Hera, quick, take a look at this dress. Is it okay if I put on some light make-up with this dress on?"
She showed Hera the dress she had picked after spending the whole night sifting through her wardrobe. "Out of all the dresses I brought, I love this dress the most."
Hera took a good look at the dress, which had tiny diamonds embedded all over it. The dress sparkled so much that anyone who wore it to an event would catch the eyes of everyone around.
A corner of Hera's mouth twitched as she said, "Have you forgotten that you're a salesperson who makes just two grand a month? Are you thinking of exposing yourself by wearing something as extravagant as this?"
Samantha was dumbfounded. "Huh? Is this extravagant?"
She frowned a little. It was a shame since this was one of her favorite dresses. It was with diamonds. Then, she turned to take out another dress from her wardrobe. "What about this one?"
It was a classic Chanel dress, which emphasized the wearer's elegance and gave off a sophisticated vibe.
"No." Hera shook her head. Lots of people knew that Chanel was a luxury brand.
She turned to face Samantha's wardrobe. Although they were only here for a week, Samantha had brought so many clothes with her and bought a whole bunch of new clothes that the wardrobe was already full.
"This would do." Hera picked out a light pink dress from the wardrobe. It was from the brand "W" and was tailor-made.
The main patrons of the brand were members of the royal family from countries all around the world.
Glancing at Samantha's diamond-studded earrings and diamond necklace, Hera said, "Don't forget to take those off."
With a heavy heart, Samantha muttered, "But these babies emphasize my beauty."
"A salesperson who makes two grand a month can't afford them," Hera pointed out as she stood behind Samantha to remove the necklace.
"Okay." As a professional actress, Samantha immediately shifted into her salesperson character and took off her earrings.
Hera said, "Also, remember to stop your habit of buying people's bills. Don't say everything's on you tonight!"
"Okay," Samantha muttered in response.
It was hard to change that habit of hers.
