It suddenly occurred to Samantha that she had rushed downstairs halfway through putting on her bikini. She had thought that it was Hera who had come back and hurried downstairs to get the door.
Hastily, Samantha crossed her arms over her chest to cover it. "What are you looking at? Even if I were to seduce someone, it would never be you!"
Shaun clucked his tongue, the temptation he felt earlier vanishing. "It's not like I haven't seen your boobs before. I've gotten sick of sleeping with you anyway."
With a look of indifference, he pulled his luggage into the house.
His tone made Samantha even more furious. "You always need to have the last word! Don't you forget that I dumped you! It's not the other way around!"
As she yelled, she stretched a leg in front of Shaun to stop him from entering. He was pulling his luggage with him, and her action caught him by surprise. He didn't manage to stop in time, and the wheels of his luggage ran over her foot.
Samantha almost fell because of that, but Shaun was quick to respond by grabbing her arm. His yanking her toward him caused the two of them to bump into each other.
It was at this moment that Hera and Bernard came back home with the twins. The four of them saw Samantha and Shaun having their arms around each other.
"Did you two get back together?" Hera asked.
Dora saw Samantha and Shaun too. Curious, she blinked her innocent eyes at them and asked, "What are you doing with him, Samantha?"
Bernard reached down to cover Dora's eyes. "Don't look. It's not something children should look at."
Their questions snapped Samantha out of her daze, and she pushed Shaun away from her.
"Together, my arse! I wouldn't get back together with him even if all the other men in the world died!"
Shaun furrowed his brows at her words. He came from the Thompson family. Not only was he rich, but he was also powerful and good-looking. He could have any woman he wanted in the world. Women flocked to him all the time.
He was the one who got bored of women and dumped them. However, Samantha dumped him in front of his friends back then. Now, she even had the audacity to say such horrible things with Bernard and Hera around.
Did Samantha think she could embarrass him just like that? Shaun clucked his tongue, annoyed.
"As if I would want you to become my girlfriend. I wouldn't have slept with a woman like you if you hadn't come to me in the first place," Shaun spat, unable to suppress his anger.
Hearing that, Shaun glanced sideways at Samantha with contempt and said, "You heard that, Samantha? You're wearing too little."
He was a little mad at Samantha for wearing a bikini to go swimming. Was she wearing that to impress other men?
"It's none of your business!" Samantha snapped.
Shaun was stunned speechless. She was right. They had broken up a long time ago. He had no right to tell her not to wear what she was wearing.
In the end, he could only watch in silence as Samantha left the house with Hera.
"You see that, Hera? What a horrible man he is!" Samantha couldn't stop herself from ranting the moment she stepped out of the mansion. "He couldn't bear talking to me in that tone when he and I were together. Did you hear how rude and snobbish he sounded just now? What a hypocrite!"
Hera remembered the time when Bernard didn't have any memories about her. He had spoken really rudely to her too. At that time, he even thought she was a sly woman who wanted to manipulate him.
She told Samantha, "It's part of his true character. He adored you back then, so that's why you think he's different now."
