"Nonsense! I'm not getting back together with him!" Samantha turned furious whenever she remembered what Shaun had said about her back then. "There are so many good men out there. Why should I think of him and only him?"
Hera lifted an eyebrow skeptically. "Oh really? Will you not give him a shot even if you two were to meet again?"
Samantha paused for a moment as if giving it some thought. Then, she noticed Hera staring at her as though she was enjoying a show.
"No, I won't!" Samantha blurted to salvage her dignity.
"Don't speak too soon," Hera simply told her.
"I won't give Shaun another chance," said Samantha stubbornly. "Jadonia is huge. We've never met each other since we broke up five years ago. Do you know what it means? It means that he and I won't see each other anymore! It's better this way. We won't have to sneer at each other."
Samantha got up from her seat and sighed, shelving the discussion. "We should stop talking about him. Let's go change and swim."
"Okay," Hera agreed readily. "You can head back first. I want to see what the twins are doing. I'll be back in a jiffy."
"Sure."
Samantha headed back to her room in the mansion and picked a light yellow bikini. She was halfway done putting it on when the doorbell rang. Thinking that Hera had forgotten to bring the key, Samantha hurried out of the room to get the door.
What greeted her was the sight of a man with a cigarette in his mouth and a black suitcase behind him. He was scrolling on his phone with one hand.
Samantha froze when she saw him.
For some time, no one opened the door after he rang the bell, so Shaun took out his phone to call Bernard.
Suddenly, the door opened. Shaun raised his eyes to see Samantha in a bikini.
The cigarette fell from his mouth when their eyes met.
"As if I wanted to see you here. You know that I'm here now, so why don't you leave? Why are you even entering the house?"
"You want me to leave, don't you?" Shaun narrowed his eyes. "Tell you what, I won't be leaving!"
He breathed out so that the cigarette smoke got into Samantha's face. With a smirk, he said, "You can scram if you don't want to see me!"
Samantha's blood boiled. "You're the one who should be leaving!"
"You aren't leaving, huh? Who are you trying to seduce in this bikini?" Shaun spat as he eyed her from head to toe.
Samantha's figure had become fitter and more attractive than before. She had abs now, and he could tell that she worked out quite often for that.
At that moment, she wasn't done wearing her bikini, so a portion of her breasts was exposed. It made her more alluring and tempting to the eyes.
