Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 935

Bernard tensed at Hera's accusatory tone. She was definitely angry. It was over. Would she never talk to him again? Should he pretend he hadn't regained his memory? But doing that would only make things worse.

A flurry of thoughts raced through his mind. In the end, he decided to face her honestly. So, he nodded stiffly and admitted the truth.

"Haha, you finally remembered!" Hera laughed.

If he hadn't, she doubted she would have the energy to continue playing along with him.

Bernard recalled the terrible things he had said and done to her, feeling a pang of guilt. He got on one knee beside her hospital bed and held her hand. Upon closer inspection, he noticed the tattoo on her hand and arm was there to cover up scars.

Those scars were from the time they were trapped in a hotel with a bomb. Hera had risked her life to dismantle the bomb, ensuring he survived. The thought filled Bernard with pain. This was her mark of love, yet he had never even noticed.

"Sweetie, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I didn't do it on purpose. I didn't remember you and thought you were just trying to get close to me like any other woman," Bernard mumbled.

"So, you were used to sleeping with them," Hera retorted.

Bernard was speechless. "I only acted that way with you! And I swear I've been loyal in the past five years. I only broke that rule when you came back!"

He grew aggrieved. "Besides, you were the one who started things between us and seduced me…"

"Seriously? Weren't you the one who wanted to have a mistress?" Hera teased again.

Bernard felt like he couldn't defend himself no matter what he said. "Would you believe me if I told you I only said that to win the argument and didn't mean it?"
