Bernard gently held Hera's hand, softly rubbing the back of it. "Sweetie, please wake up soon, okay? I beg you."

The three of them chatted around the hospital bed, and soon, the half-hour time limit was up. Johnson knocked to remind them it was time to leave.

Like the two children, Bernard was reluctant to go. As he stood up, he suddenly felt the fingers in his hand twitch. He paused and looked carefully at Hera's hand, but it wasn't moving. Thinking it was just his imagination, he quickly glanced at Hera's face. After a moment, he saw her lashes fluttering.

Dylan noticed it too. "Mom's waking up!"

Hearing this, Johnson immediately came forward to check the monitor and found signs of awakening. He quickly called for his assistant and a nurse.

Hera vaguely heard the voices of her children calling her. As her consciousness returned, the first sensation she felt was the pain all over her body. She struggled to open her eyes and realized she was lying in a hospital bed.

"Mommy! I missed you. Are you in pain? Let me kiss the pain away." Dora leaned on the edge of the bed and carefully kissed Hera's arms.

Hera turned her head and smiled at her daughter's adorable gesture.

"Mom!" Dylan couldn't resist grabbing Hera's other hand. Though he said nothing, his teary eyes spoke volumes about his worry.

"Don't cry. I won't leave you." Hera struggled to lift her hand and place it on Dylan's head.

Dylan, who usually hated physical touch, remained perfectly still. He was afraid that any movement might tug on the IV in his mother's hand.

"Where have you been staying these past few days? I feel like you've gained some weight, Dora," Hera teased, trying to ease her children's worries.

Dora froze. She had eaten too many snacks.

"Haha, we've been staying at Daddy's place all week. The food was amazing." Dora giggled.

"If you say that, no one will believe you went on a three-day hunger strike," Dylan teased.
