Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 1060

"Hello, Ms. Gaskell. It's our first time hosting a gathering together, so it should be more special," Dora said sweetly. "You can continue cooking. Leave the decorations in the living room to me and Eli."

Amelia also considered that things should be more unique since it was her first time inviting Gideon over for dinner. However, she was afraid that she might seem like she was trying too hard, which would complicate things later. That was why she gave up on the plan.

Amelia never expected Dora to come up with the same idea, so she was rather touched. "Alright. Thank you, Dora."

"Ms. Gaskell, I'm good friends with Eli, so you don't have to be so formal with me," Dora said with a smile. She then picked up a cup of milk tea and poked a straw through the lid before handing it to Amelia.

"I even brought milk tea for you. Have a few sips before the foam melts. You've worked so hard for dinner tonight."

Amelia's heart melted when she saw how thoughtful Dora was. "Thank you. I'm doing fine."

Amelia didn't hold back since no woman could resist the temptation of sweet drinks. She had two sips of bubble tea before continuing to prepare dinner in the kitchen, leaving Dora and Eli to handle the decorations in the living room.

Eli noticed Amelia didn't seem any different after having the spiked milk tea, so he turned to give Dora a hand in decorating the place. He was shocked to see how deft she was while handling the house chores—sweeping the floor, wiping the table, displaying the flowers, and hanging up some fairy lights.

Many kids in their classes came from affluent families and were very pampered. Whenever they were assigned to do chores at school, they would either pay other kids to do their work or ask their nannies and bodyguards to do it on their behalf. Almost none of them would do it on their own.

"I'm done." Dora clapped her hands.

Although Dora came from a wealthy family, Hera did not overly pamper her and Dylan. She would still have the twins do the chores that were expected of them.

Eli watched as the initially cluttered and simple living room was turned into a warm and romantic place after Dora had decorated it. His impression of her had changed again, seeing how she kept surprising him.

"Let's take a selfie to commemorate this," Dora said while switching on the camera on her phone.

Seeing that Dora got it right, Eli didn't hide it anymore and hummed in response.

Dora was so shocked to hear his response. She shook her head vigorously. "Absolutely not!"

"Why not?" Eli was perplexed. Didn't she encourage him to find someone to be his father?

Dora wanted to scold Eli for being so stupid. "If my Uncle Gideon marries your mother, that would make us cousins!"

"What's so bad about that? I'll protect you in the future." Eli didn't think it was a bad idea. He found Dora to be quite adorable, so it would be nice to have her as a cousin.

Dora's expression fell as she thought to herself that this wouldn't do. She didn't want them to be cousins.
