Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 1050

"I…" Amelia wanted to say something, but after thinking for a while, she pretended to be calm and joked, "I didn't want you to look down on me."

Gideon frowned as if he didn't like her answer. Amelia was afraid that he would ask about Eli, so she prevented him from saying anything else. She chuckled dryly and said, "After all, getting pregnant before marriage isn't a glorious matter. Besides, I don't know who the father is."

Amelia deliberately lowered her voice when she said the last sentence. She wanted to create the impression that she had been in romantic relationships before and stop Gideon from asking about Eli.

When Gideon heard that, his gaze toward her became complicated. He didn't expect her to harm herself in that manner.

To him, she was a flower in the concrete that would never give up. Even though the Gaskell family had fallen back then and she became a woman who anyone could bully, she didn't give up on herself and still survived.

Gideon admired Amelia's proud and tough personality, so when he saw that she was in a predicament, he lent her a helping hand and became friends.

They finally reunited after so many years, and he noticed that her proud personality seemed to have dissipated throughout the years.

Seeing that Gideon didn't ask further questions, Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. She wanted him to go back first again, but when she was about to speak up, the door was knocked on.

"Mr. Everett?" A woman around the age of 50 pushed the door open and entered the ward. Amelia recognized her. This woman was Gideon's nanny, Belinda Frost.

After the Gaskell family fell, all of the Gaskell family's assets were taken away. There was a time when Amelia didn't have a place to stay in Norburgh. Gideon took her in for a few days, and when she stayed in his house, Belinda was the one who took care of her.

"Ms. Gaskell." Once Belinda entered the ward, she was surprised to see Amelia. "Long time no see. How have you been?"

"Belinda, long time no see. I've been doing great. What brings you here?" Amelia was shocked.

"Yeah," answered Amelia.

"His facial features are great," said Belinda with a smile.

Amelia laughed. She wanted to ask Belinda how she could see Eli's facial features when his face was covered in wounds.

Nonetheless, Amelia responded politely, "Thank you." Then, she suggested, "How about you take a rest first? He's asleep now. I can just keep watch over him here."

"Ms. Gaskell, you don't need to be so polite. Mr. Everett called me over to take care of the kid and you," said Belinda. "You're special to Mr. Everett. Aside from his sister, I've never seen him showing concern for a woman before. You're the first."

Amelia was taken aback. "Hasn't he gotten married?"
