Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 1049

Amelia rushed to the hospital and saw Eli sleeping on the hospital bed. He was hooked to an IV drip. When she saw him, tears started to flow out.

The scratches on his face were already treated with ointment. To prevent inflammation, the wounds weren't bandaged. It was a shocking sight.

Amelia couldn't imagine what Eli had gone through. She blamed herself for not paying attention to him. She didn't even know there were thugs troubling him.

"He's very strong. His injuries aren't serious. He only needs to rest for a few days. But you must pay attention to the wounds on his face. There might be scars."

While speaking, Gideon handed Amelia a piece of tissue. She took it and wiped away her tears. Then, she turned around and looked at him. She had many things to say, but in the end, she only said, "Thank you, Gideon."

Gideon watched Amelia cry, feeling conflicted. "No need to thank me."

"Was he kidnapped by them?" Amelia asked.

"Yeah," responded Gideon. Then, he explained what happened to her concisely.

After hearing all that, Amelia felt pain in her chest. She was never kidnapped even when she was living in the Gaskell residence even though her family was wealthy. She didn't expect Eli to encounter such a thing.

"You can't blame him for this. Dora is close to him, so they targeted him. They've all been arrested. They won't show up again," said Gideon.

He wasn't a big help in this matter. He only brought Dora to the address. As for Nathan, Hera had informed him about it in advance.

Recalling the stunning looks Dora had inherited from Bernard and Hera, Amelia was astonished. When was Eli close to Dora? At the same time, she couldn't help but worry. If they were close, would Eli's identity be at risk of getting exposed?

Only Amelia and Gideon were left in the ward once again. There was also Eli, who was asleep. Amelia looked at the time and said, "It's late. You should head back and rest. I can just accompany him here."

But Gideon didn't leave. "Why did you lie?"

When Amelia heard that, her heart skipped a beat. She wasn't sure what Gideon had found out.

"What do you mean?" Amelia probed.

"You never got married. Why did you lie?" Gideon repeated his question.

Amelia saw how serious he was and couldn't help but feel diffident. She didn't expect him to check if what she said was true.
