Chapter 290
Chapter 290
Jessica spun around sharply. “Mr. Atkinson, please show some respect.”
Brian stopped in his tracks as the elevator doors closed behind Jessica and Sana.
He stood there, letting out a bitter laugh.
“Sir, did Mrs. Atkinson accept it?” Jackson asked from inside the car after waiting for quite a while, unable to contain his curiosity when Brian finally appeared.
“She did. Let’s go.” Brian replied calmly.
Jackson grew even more curious upon hearing this, noticing that Brian’s expression remained distant, far from relieved.
“Is something else on your mind?” Brian caught his gaze and asked quietly.
“No. Should we head back to the office now, or go to the factory for an inspection?”
“The factory.”
Not yet ready to return to the office, Brian decided to visit the factory first.
“Alright.” Jackson acknowledged as he turned the car toward the factory.
They remained at the factory until dusk before setting off for the city.
On the way back, Brian noticed a bustling crowd gathered nearby and inquired, “What’s going on over there?”
“That’s a street fair. Want to take a look?” Jackson glanced at the map, offering the suggestion.
“Since we’re passing by, why not?” Brian agreed.
The brightly lit street fair stood out vividly in the evening darkness. Brian thought it might be a good opportunity to find some snacks or a small restaurant to bring something back for Jessica.
Cooking at home and then delivering food would be too late. Better to see if anything appealing was available here.
If nothing suitable appeared, he could always return to the sandwich stall from before and grab something for Jessica to take home.
As Brian considered this, Jackson guided the car into the busy street fair.
The crowds were overwhelming, so Brian stepped out first and asked Jackson to find a place to park.
Once the car was gone, Brian turned and made his way into the throng.
The market was filled with countless stalls, many run by students working part–time.
Brian carefully navigated through the crowd, his eyes scanning the shops lining both sides, though nothing quite met his standards.
Mostly, he was concerned about cleanliness.
Just as he was about to approach a popular dessert stall, a voice spoke beside him.
“Does this bracelet really guarantee my boyfriend and I will stay together forever?”
“Absolutely. This bracelet comes highly recommended by a fortune teller.” The young female vendor’s practiced sales pitch made it clear she was no stranger to such questions.

Though Brian knew the words were empty promises, he stopped, bending down to pick up a pair of bracelets from the tray
“Good choice. These bracelets are a perfect match. Ideal as a gift for your girlfriend.” The vendor praised enthusiastically
