“So, does that feel better now?”
I smiled and threw myself into Lucas’s arms. “It’s alright. I only gave him a hard time today. The main event has yet to come.”
I glanced down at Jack and Annie being escorted out by security and smiled.
Then I called the secretary’s office. “Gather all the information about Jack’s overseas finances and send it to our business partners.”
I was confident this would stop him from continuing his scams.
Soon I heard that everyone was turning Jack away at the door. His charade was finally over.
He already had significant debt overseas, and now he couldn’t con any money locally either.
Somehow he figured out I was the one who leaked the information, and he angrily came to wait for me at the mansion.
I was returning home in my car, on a video call with my best friend.
“I will invest all the business deals you offered. Lucas gives me thirty thousand dollars a month as spending money, and I’m saving it all!”
As I got out of the car, I watched Jack’s expression change from snarling anger to a fawning smile.
“Wendy, I was wrong. Give me a chance to prove my sincerity!”
With that, Jack dropped to his knees with a thud, both hands tugging at my clothes.
I looked at him impatiently and pointed my phone camera at him.
“Do you like me, or do you like my money?
“Give you a chance to prove yourself, then you run off with my cash? Are you dreaming?
“Was it your twin brother who beat me last week? Where’s all that toughness now?”
Jack didn’t get angry at my mockery. Instead, he slapped himself hard across the face twice.
When Jack heard I might give him money, his eyes immediately lit up.
