The Third Year After My Fiancé Left Home, I Got Pregnant novel Chapter 10

“Wendy, what’s wrong? Did you fall?”

Under his worried gaze, I slowly held up the pregnancy test, while my other hand gently rubbed my stomach.

“It’s all your fault!”

Lucas looked at the two lines in disbelief, then his eyes lit up with overwhelming joy. He carefully carried me to the hospital.

After a series of tests, the doctor confirmed I was two months pregnant.

“You don’t need to be overly cautious. The baby is developing well. Just come in for monthly check-ups!”

Lucas nodded, carefully noting this down before helping me walk out of the clinic.

As we passed through the hospital lobby, we saw a stretcher being rushed through emergency.

“Make way! Clear the path! We have a patient with full-body infection!”

Lucas held me protectively in his arms as I curiously glanced over. To my surprise, I recognized the person on the stretcher.

Jack lay there with a flushed face, deliriously mumbling.

“I was wrong… please… I was really wrong! Give me one more chance… I want to be rich!”

As I frowned watching him, Jack seemed to sense something and suddenly opened his eyes to look at me.

When he saw Lucas carefully touching my belly, all color drained from his face.

Immediately after, doctors shouted for help with resuscitation-the patient had lost consciousness!
