The Heartbreak Prescription novel Chapter 953

Chapter 953

Gilbert enjoyed watching the drama unfold. He grinned at Halsey and said, “Damn, Elise seems to be coming for Shaun. I guess he’s into this type, huh? Do you think he might actually fall for her?”

Gilbert was deliberately trying to rile Halsey up.

Halsey’s fingers curled into a tight fist.

Elise, the campus queen of Southburn University, was very popular. A lot of rich kids parked their sports cars at the school gate just to pick her up and confess their feelings.

However, Elise had high standards and hadn’t found anyone she liked.

Her coming to this bar to dance meant business. This bar was where the rich and powerful sons of the Capital hung out- everyone here was either loaded or influential. She was hunting for the best man.

In truth, she already knew about Shaun, the rising star of the business world. The moment she danced on stage, she spotted him

and set her sights on him.

Shaun was handsome, noble, and young-a standout in any crowd. It was impossible not to notice him.

Elise fell for him the moment she saw him.

Just now, she took advantage of the moment to dance off-stage and landed right on Shaun’s lap.

The crowd went wild. Everyone was shouting.

“Elise just threw herself into Mr. Lane’s arms!”

“Is she coming for him?”

“So many people have tried and failed to win her heart. Looks like she’s already set her sights on someone else!”

“Mr. Lane, what do you think? Do you like Elise?”

Hearing the gossip, Elise looked at Shaun with a shy smile. His cool, distant eyes met hers.

Their gazes locked.

Elise blushed and said softly, “Hi, Mr. Lane. I’m Elise, a student at Southburn University. I want to get to know you. Can I get your number?”

Elise was smart. She knew how to use her youth and beauty to make the first move. After all, high-quality men were rare, when she found one, she planned to hold on tight.

Before Shaun could answer, Chelsea lost her patience. She wanted to win Shaun’s heart now that he and Halsey had broken up, but here came Elise.

Chelsea jumped and grabbed Elise by the shirt, pulling her down. “Get off!”

Elise screamed, falling to the floor.

Chelsea snapped, “How dare you try to seduce Shaun! You’re so shameless!”

Elise quickly played the victim. “I’m just a part-time dancer here. My dad gambles, and my mom died early, so I have to work to support my little sister, who’s still in school. I wanted to get Mr. Lane’s number because I’m hoping to intern or work at his company. I’m graduating soon and need a job. I don’t have any other intentions.”
