As the last trace of twilight vanished from the horizon, Finnegan and Alisha arrived at Fleur Villa.
At the doorway, Celine led Skylar and Jacqueline out to welcome them.
Alisha couldn't help but mutter under her breath, “We certainly didn't receive such treatment the day before yesterday!”
At that time, she and Finnegan had walked in there by themselves.
There was no one waiting to greet them at the door.
With a hint of amusement, Finnegan casually remarked, “Isn't that quite normal?”
When he arrived at Fleur Villa the day before yesterday, everyone merely assumed he was a physician hired by Theoden. Hence, they didn't pay him much mind.
But now, he was the man who could make even Josef set aside vengeance for his son, who was crippled. As such, Celine and the others would definitely welcome him personally.
“Sure enough, strength is the only foundation for gaining respect!” Alisha lamented in a murmur.
“Dr. Larkin!”
“Mr. Larkin!”
Celine, Skylar, and Jacqueline courteously greeted Finnegan, their demeanor significantly more humble than before.
Grunting in acknowledgment, Finnegan walked past them. “Prepare dinner. I'm hungry!”
The three of them were all taken aback.
But in an instant, Celine regained her composure, sweeping her hand out and saying, “This way, please!”
Alisha's beautiful eyes sparkled as she followed at the back, her feelings for Finnegan growing in intensity.
“What is the meaning of that?” Jacqueline bit her lip hard. “We invited him here to treat Grandma's illness, not to have him over for dinner. Besides, he should go and greet Grandpa Norman first, no?”
Clearly, Jacqueline still harbored resentment toward Finnegan deep within.
“All show and no substance!” Skylar chided.
After saying that, he walked in, not in the mood to engage in further conversation with Jacqueline.
He discovered that Jacqueline was too foolish, for she dared to harbor resentment against someone who could make Josef give up avenging Gideon being crippled and have her banished from Martial Arts Alliance.
Anger welled within Jacqueline, making her mood even worse.
Helpless to do anything, she could only let someone wheel her forward, going to the dining room with Finnegan and watching him dine with Alisha at the side like a housekeeper.
It was uncertain whether it was intentional or otherwise, but Finnegan took his time eating. Not only did he eat slowly, but he also leisurely had Celine bring him a bottle of wine.
Seeing that, Jacqueline ultimately couldn't resist but say, “Dr. Larkin, you still have to treat my grandmother later. Isn't it a bit inappropriate to drink now?”
Finnegan raised an eyebrow, glanced back at Jacqueline indifferently, and chose to ignore her.
That disdainful attitude further aggravated Jacqueline. “How dare—”
Just as she began to speak, Celine called out to the help nearby, “It's time for Ms. Jacqueline to take her medicine. Please escort her away to do so.”
Two housekeepers approached and wheeled Jacqueline, who was in a wheelchair, away, giving her no chance to speak.
Celine bowed respectfully. “Mr. Larkin, please enjoy your meal with Ms. Wahlstrom first. If you need anything, feel free to call us.”
She glanced at Skylar before leaving the dining room with him.
Only then did Alisha venture softly, “Finnegan, aren't you going a bit too far?”
“Am I?”
Alisha nodded and replied, “A little!”
“So be it.” Finnegan smirked nonchalantly. “Many people wish for me to do so but never get the chance. Now that they can receive such treatment from me, it's their honor! At the very least, it shows they still have the right to beg me!”
When Alisha heard that, her beautiful eyes suddenly sparkled, and her heart fluttered. “I want to bed you even more now. What should I do?”
Picking up his wine glass, Finnegan took a sip from it. Then, he replied densely, “Perhaps in the next life!”
What is he doing? Norman is known as Mr. Dunn, while Tyrone is Mr. Calandrino. It's clear that Finnegan is only greeting Tyrone now. What could Norman possibly think about this?
