“Who are you calling?” Stella asked, wiping her eyes.

“I surprised him at his apartment yesterday.” Tears spilled down Stella’s cheeks. “He wasn’t expecting me. There was another woman there. In his bed.”

“Lucky boy!” She tickled his sides before turning to me. “So it’s really happening? He’s stealing you both away just like that?”

“Daddy makes them fly in the air!” Leo exclaimed when he spotted me. “I counted seven flips!”

An hour later, my apartment was a whirlwind of activity. Professional movers efficiently packed and labeled boxes while Chloe supervised with clipboard in hand. Stella and Scarlett had arrived with coffee and pastries, turning the move into something of a party.

“You absolutely did,” Chloe countered. “Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me.” She bent down to hug Leo. “Hey, little man! Ready for your big move?”

When they left the kitchen, I turned to Liam. “She’s right, you know. You do work fast.” “I’ll help him,” Chloe offered. “You two finish breakfast.”

Moments later, Chloe breezed into the kitchen, looking immaculate in designer jeans and a silk blouse. Her eyes darted between Liam, Leo, and me.

“I still can’t believe you didn’t tell me right away,” Chloe said, helping herself to coffee. “I had to hear from Liam that you were moving today.”

Leo bounced in his seat. “Can I bring all my toys?”

“What can I do?” Stella shrugged helplessly. “It’s over.”

“Super excited! Daddy said I can have my own playroom!” Leo stuffed another bite of pancake into his mouth.

Scarlett’s smile was downright wicked. “Someone who owes me a favor. Trust me, this will be so much more satisfying than slashed tires.”

“Morning, beautiful,” he said, crossing the kitchen to plant a kiss on my lips. “Coffee’s

ready”

“Speaking of funny,” Chloe said, joining us at the kitchen table, “I have news too.”

I accepted the mug Liam offered. “That’s right, baby. Are you excited?”

Her lower lip trembled. “I guess today is confession day.” She took a deep breath. “Adrian’s cheating on me.”

Leo covered his ears. “Aunt Chloe is loud!”

“I’ll kill him,” Chloe stated flatly. “I always knew he was a snake.”

“Noah asked me to move in with him,” she announced, her cheeks flushing. “And I said

yes.”

I nodded, feeling both nervous and excited. “It makes sense. His place is bigger, more secure, and-”

“You. Leo. Our new baby. All of us together where I can keep you safe.” His hands settled on my

waist. “I’ve missed too much already.”

We all watched in confusion as the phone rang, wondering what Scarlett had planned for Adrian’s comeuppance–and whether it would be enough to heal Stella’s broken heart.

“Well, isn’t this domestic bliss?” she teased, dropping her purse on the counter. “Sterling, you work fast. It was just yesterday you were begging me for advice on winning her back.”

“What?” Chloe finally said, her voice dangerously low. “That bastard. How did you find

out?”

“Aunt Chloe!” Leo squealed, throwing his sticky arms around her neck. “I’m getting a – playroom!”

“Chloe! That’s wonderful!” I exclaimed, genuinely happy for my friend.

Liam turned, spatula in hand, and my breath caught at the intensity of his gaze. Even in pajama bottoms and a t–shirt, he looked devastatingly handsome.

“Eight,” Liam corrected with a wink. “Your counting still needs some work, buddy.”

We all clinked our cups together, but I noticed Stella’s smile didn’t reach her eyes.

The doorbell rang again before I could respond.

Hazel’s POV

I reached across the table to squeeze Stella’s hand. “I’m so sorry.”

I woke to the sound of giggles and the clatter of dishes coming from the kitchen. Rubbing sleep from my eyes, I slipped into my robe and padded down the hallway of my soon–to–be former apartment.

“That’s bullshit,” Scarlett said, her normally calm demeanor giving way to anger. “What are you going to do?”

“And he’s a control freak who wants his family under his roof,” Chloe finished for me, shooting Liam a knowing look.

“The worst part is, he didn’t even deny it,” Stella continued, wiping her tears. “He said I was being ‘too clingy‘ and that we ‘never agreed to be exclusive. After eight months together!”

“Life’s funny that way,” I replied, wrapping a coffee mug in newspaper.

I leaned against the doorframe, savoring this perfect domestic moment. “Good morning, my boys.”

Liam wiped his hands on a kitchen towel. “I’ll get it.”

“Already taken care of. I hired a service. They’ll pack everything, move it, and unpack at the new place.” He looked pleased with himself. “All you need to do is point out what comes and what stays.”

I raised an eyebrow at Liam. “A playroom, huh? First I’m hearing of this.”

“It’s your fault, actually,” she said with a laugh. “Seeing you and Liam finally get your act -together made us realize we don’t want to waste any more time either.”

“You can start by burning all his gifts,” Chloe suggested. “Then we’ll slash his tires.”

He pulled me against him. “When I know what I want, I don’t waste time.”

“That must be Chloe,” I said, checking the time. “She’s early.”

“We’ll toast to that,” Scarlett said, raising her coffee cup. “To new beginnings!”

Liam shrugged, not looking the least bit apologetic. “The house has five bedrooms. One for us, one for Leo, one for the new baby, a guest room, and a playroom.” He ticked them off on his fingers. “It makes perfect sense.”

Chloe pulled me into a fierce hug. “I’m so happy for you both. Truly.” When she stepped back, her eyes were suspiciously bright. “This is all I ever wanted for you, Hazel. A man who worships you and a beautiful family.”

“Sorry, sweetie,” she said, not looking sorry at all. “Your mommy just gave me some very exciting news.”
