I Was the Stepping Stone novel Chapter 91

Chapter 21

“I absolutely refuse this marriage, unless I die!” Andrew exclaimed angrily, gritting his teeth. “Katherine, you can only be my woman in this lifetime, don’t even think about marrying him!”

“My marriage doesn’t require your approval,” Dominic, who had hurriedly arrived, stared down at Andrew with an oppressive tone. “Hurry up and leave, don’t hinder me from celebrating Katherine’s birthday.”

After saying that, he took Katherine’s hand and smiled tenderly, saying, “Let’s go.”

Katherine followed him inside and heard Andrew’s furious roar behind her, with a terrifying intensity.

She remembered his history of mental illness and couldn’t help but show concern. Dominic pinched her cheeks and said, “Don’t worry, Andrew will be fine. I will find something for him to do, so he won’t bother you.”

“I believe that after some time, he would be able to accept our engagement and stop causing such a fuss.”

“Hopefully,” Katherine said.

She had witnessed how ruthless and determined Andrew could be in order to secure a billion-dollar deal, and

she was afraid that he wouldn’t let her go easily.

She had not seen Andrew in the following days.

Every day, she would receive thousands of text messages from him.

“Katherine, I missed you so much!”

She ignored it and blocked the number directly..

He changed his number and sent a text message again, and it still had that bone-chilling sentence “I miss

you so much.”

On the day of the engagement, Katherine was pulled up by the stylists before dawn, getting her makeup done, changing her dress, and having her hair styled.

She sat in the Maybach car that came to pick her up, feeling drowsy.

Suddenly, the car shook violently and emitted a piercing braking sound.

Katherine opened her sleepy eyes and saw that the car she was riding in was forced to stop by several black

SUVS.

In an instant, the car window was violently knocked on, reflecting Andrew’s face covered with gloom!

She was greatly shocked, opened the car door, and ran frantically while holding her skirt. She was then lifted up by a strong arm and carried on the shoulder. “You promised to always be with me, don’t even think about

going back on your word!”

“As long as I had a breath left, I would never allow you to be with him!”

Katherine struggled desperately and was then covered with a wet towel over her mouth and nose.

A pungent smell surged into her nostrils.

Her mind became hazy, and she fell softly onto his shoulder, losing consciousness.
