Chapter 4
Danica, however, remained silent with a mysterious smile on her face, saying that everyone would soon find
out who she was going to marry.
Others didn’t know, but Melanie was well aware that Danica was going to marry Jordan.
If she remembered correctly, Danica was Jordan’s junior sister and was also recruited into the company by Jordan in the first year of the establishment of the Tye Group.
At that time, Jordan intended to support Danica to become his new assistant, but no matter how Melanie taught Danica, she couldn’t even handle the simplest tasks like stamping documents, let alone being able to work like Melanie, discussing project collaborations on his behalf, and taking care of household chores after
work.
So, not long after, Jordan gave up on the idea of having Danica as his assistant and just moved her to the front desk, where she served as a mere decoration…
It is ridiculous that, just like this vase, it defeated Melanie and captured Jordan’s heart.
In the past twelve years, I have been at the forefront, fighting for him, while Danica didn’t have to do anything. Just by standing there, she could obtain things that she had been striving for but couldn’t achieve for a long
time.
Melanie felt a sudden chill in her heart, as she had wholeheartedly dedicated herself to the company and had
taken care of Jordan in every possible way.
In the end, it all turned into a joke of making wedding clothes for others.
Seeing that everyone still wanted to ask, Jordan suddenly appeared.
“What were you all doing huddled together? Don’t you have any work to do?”
Upon hearing Jordan’s voice, everyone scattered and returned to their respective positions.
Jordan turned around and looked at Melanie, “Weren’t you supposed to be on vacation? Why are you still at
the office?”
“Oh, I just heard the receptionist at the company saying that she was about to get married, and I was getting
ready to go and congratulate her…”
Upon hearing this, Jordan furrowed his brow and said, “Did she not mention who she was going to marry?”
“No, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing, just asking.” When Jordan heard Melanie say “it’s nothing,” he immediately relaxed.
Relaxed, Jordan continued, “You don’t have to cook dinner for me tonight, as I will be going out with friends for drinks and will be back very late. Since there’s no need to cook, please hurry up and prepare the bidding
documents for the new project when you get home. I don’t trust anyone else to do it.”
Knowing that she was going on vacation, he still commanded her to do this and that.

He really disguised himself very well, even though he hid from her that he was going to marry someone else,
he still wanted to squeeze out her last drop of remaining value.
But she would never do as he wished again…
Melanie did not respond.
Jordan saw that she didn’t respond and furrowed his brow, instructing, “Did you hear me?”
Melanie did not answer and turned around, leaving under his gaze.
Jordan frowned as he watched Melanie’s figure recede. Was it just his imagination, why did he feel that
Melanie was becoming stranger and stranger?
