Chapter 1
I came back to life and signed the divorce agreement without hesitation.
Victor Laurent’s mistress Sylvia Sterling was exposed.
In order to prevent her from bearing the label of “the third party”.
Victor begged me while holding the divorce agreement.
“Sebastian Sterling died to save me back then. He had only one sister, and I couldn’t just ignore her. Will you understand
me?”
In the past, Victor was maliciously plotted against by a competitor. When the car went out of control, Sebastian, disregarding the danger, threw himself towards the driver’s seat and grabbed the steering wheel to avoid the danger.
In the end, Victor was unharmed, but Sebastian was critically injured and on the verge of death. Before his final moments, he entrusted him with taking care of Sylvia.
Over the years, Victor has taken care of Sylvia in every possible way because of this favor.
In the previous life, I found out that he was going to sacrifice me for Sylvia.
I was emotionally devastated and tore the divorce agreement to shreds.
But in the end, I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I wanted to let Victor go, and also let myself go.
But Victor, because of Sylvia’s words, “Is Giselle intentionally bothering Victor?”
He concluded that I was pretending to be sick, and even thought that I was deliberately playing hard to get. In order to escape public pressure, he didn’t hesitate to set me up for an affair and file for divorce.
In despair, I ended my own life in advance.
“Giselle, we explained to the public that a year ago, we had already planned to get divorced, but due to some reasons, this
matter was put on hold.”
In the restaurant, while I was staring at a glass of water, Victor spoke up.
Just one day ago.
The paparazzi released evidence suggesting Sylvia’s affair with Victor, and the term “third party” caused a widespread condemnation of Sylvia on the internet.
The president of the Laurent Group, Victor, was labeled as “cheating” and the stock price plummeted overnight.
In the previous life, when trending topics first emerged, I used to mock how these illusory photos could mislead the public’s thoughts.
And when Victor handed me the divorce agreement, all the mockery froze on my lips, turning into endless irony.
I interrogated him hysterically about his relationship with Sylvia.
If it was just groundless rumors, there were countless ways to quell them, but he chose to push me out.
“Giselle,” my thoughts were brought back by Victor’s voice.
“You believed me, it was just a temporary measure. Once things settled down, we would remarry.”
I slowly lifted my head and shifted my gaze to the document on the table.
“Giselle, you have to understand me. After the matter was over, I will definitely compensate you well, okay?”
Victor embraced me from the side, his deep eyes gazing into mine with affection, his voice lowered and filled with a
soothing tone.
I didn’t speak for a long time, Sylvia, standing on the other side of Victor, had a pale face, with tears filling her eyes.
“Giselle, I beg you to help me, please.”
“My brother left, I had no family left, I didn’t know who to turn to for help, please, Giselle.”
As the words fell, Sylvia was about to kneel down, but Victor quickly grabbed her waist and held her in his arms.
