I Was the Stepping Stone novel Chapter 107

Chapter 10

Tristian was wearing casual clothing and holding a delicate box in his hand, as if he had just come down

from an auction.

Hearing the faint screams coming from inside, he had a moment of confusion in his eyes and was about to

walk into the villa.

Lindsey’s eyes flickered, and she lightly stepped forward, reaching out to hold his arm.

“Tristian, how come you’re here? Weren’t you supposed to have a social engagement tonight?”

A hint of disgust flashed in his eyes, but he still gently patted her head and handed her the box in his hand.

“The social engagement for tonight has been cancelled. By the way, this is the ring I promised to give you last

time. Take a look and see if you like it.”

Lindsey excitedly kissed his face and then opened the box, putting on the exquisite diamond ring. The diamond sparkled in the sunlight.

“I really liked it, thank you Tristian.”

Several close friends around her also gathered around to compliment her.

“Oh my goodness, this ring was so beautiful!”

“Lindsey, Mr. Eldred really treated you well!”

Tristian, growing increasingly impatient with their teasing, suddenly seemed to have thought of something.

One pulled Lindsey’s hand. “I remember I said, without my permission, no one is allowed to come in, right?”

Lindsey’s body trembled, and she quickly glanced at her best friend beside her.

Her best friend spoke up for her, “It’s like this, Mr. Eldred, we didn’t come in on purpose, we were just playing

nearby when we happened to come across a girl who intentionally made herself look like Lindsey, and she

climbed over the wall to get in, and then we…”

She half glanced at Tristian, cautiously, and quickly looked away, appearing as if she wanted to say something but held back.

The man immediately roared at the bodyguard beside him, “How do you guys work? You don’t even know when an outsider breaks in! Do you still want to keep your jobs?”

Lindsey pouted and said, “Tristian, don’t blame them. The villa is so big, they are bound to make mistakes sometimes. I have already scolded that plastic surgery woman for you!”

Tristian finally let go of her hand, but a smile didn’t reach his eyes. “Oh? I thought you were delicate in your daily life, but I didn’t expect you to have such skills.”

Lindsey boasted, “Of course, for anyone who has ill intentions towards Tristian, I would definitely eliminate

them.”

Her best friend on the side took the opportunity to take over the conversation. “Mr. Eldred, during the time

you were away, Lindsey, despite being pregnant, tirelessly worked for you, even I was moved just by watching

her.”

Lindsey shyly stomped her foot and said, “I told you not to tell Tristian!”

“Why is Lindsey still shy? I was telling the truth.”

Lindsey became increasingly shy and wanted to hide in his arms.

Tristian discreetly dodged to the side and called for the butler, saying, “You are pregnant and staying here for

too long is not good for the child. I will have the butler take you back first.”

After saying that, he started walking towards the villa.

“Tristian!”

Lindsey called out in fear and suddenly covered her stomach with cold sweat all over her face, saying, “I… my

stomach hurts…”

Tristian’s eyes tightened, and he quickly supported her waist.

“How did it suddenly start hurting?”

She shook her head, but held onto his clothes tightly.

It seemed very uncomfortable.

A few close friends also gathered around with worries.

“Mr. Eldred, why don’t you take Lindsey to the hospital first?”

“Yeah, what if something unexpected happened? What would we do?”
