Chapter 98
In the campsite, Emily was seething with rage at Janic.
But she’d kind of achieved her own goal,
After all, Janie’s act of treating people differently was bound to rile up a whole bunch of folks once the show aired.
Then Emily could claim the moral high ground.
A vicious glint flashed in Emily’s eyes.
A malicious glint flashed in Emily’s eyes as she kept yapping, “You this…”
Janie frowned in annoyance.
All of a sudden, Emily felt wretched all over, like bugs were nibbling at her whole body.
She struggled to hold it together so as not to lose her composure.
Her expression was clearly off, but nobody gave a damn.
Molly, who hadn’t gone far, caught sight of Emily and stepped forward, asking, “Are you okay, Ms. Yates?”
Emily rubbed her forehead and said, “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
But she felt all stiff.
Out of the blue, Emily thought in horror, “Am I possessed?”
Remembering the previous affairs of the Jenkins family and Janie, Emily was certain of her hunch.
I’ve been affected by their evil magic,’ she thought.
Then she took off running like a madwoman.
People stared at her like she was crazy.
David was puzzled and asked, “What’s wrong with Ms. Yates?”

Janie said casually, “Maybe she’s suddenly repenting for her sins? Maybe she feels guilty in front of such an innocent and kind–hearted me.”
David and Molly just fell silent.
After a short while, Molly smiled and said, “Miss Janie, you’re so humorous.”
Janie smiled back and said, “Well, sort of.”
Jackson, who’d just set up the tent, came over.
“Little Janie, have you picked out the ingredients yet? You go take a rest, and I’ll grill them.”
Janie replied obediently, “Then I’ll just keep you company right here.”
Jackson chuckled and said, “Sure.”
Molly hesitated to speak, but Janie spoke up for her, “Molly wants to borrow some money. It’s up to you.”

Jackson said, “I’ll go with whatever you say.”
Janie nodded and said to Molly, “We’ve agreed. How much were you looking to borrow?”
Molly beamed and said, “Thank you! Please lend me five dozen.”
David cut in, “Lending five dozen is a bit much for a team. I’ll cover half of it.”
Molly thought it made sense and gratefully agreed.

Jackson said, “Little Janie, just sit right here. I’ll take care of everything.”
Janie smiled and replied, “Okay. I’ve already prepared the barbecue sauce.”
Jackson grinned and said, “You’re such a good kid.”
Janie felt like she was being coddled like a little child.
David and Molly were also barbecuing not too far away, and they were really tied up with all the work.
