Kena spoke with difficulty, Janie, you did go too far

But Janie smiled indifferently, Why should I respect you? What have you done to earn my respect? Have you ever respected

Zion glared at Janie

Janie continued, No matter what happens, you all always say I’m the one who goes too far and that I shouldn’t act like that.

You can easily ignore Zion’s hostility and targeting of me, but when I stand up for myself, you all gang up on me as if I’ve committed a heinous crime

Janie’s expression turned even colder, But that’s fine. I know people are born biased.

Xena hurriedly explained, No, Sis, we didn’t mean that.

Janie composed herself and said calmly, I said I’m not your sister.”

Zion sneered, You’re just bitter about Xena.”

Janie didn’t want to argue anymore.

She smiled faintly and nodded, Well, you’re right about everything. Is that enough for you?

Zion’s face immediately darkened.

The faces of the rest of the Jenkins family were also grim

Janie’s voice was cold as she said, Hased on my relationship with her, what her mother has done to me, and the fact that she the one with the most to gain, still dares to be hostile toward me, picking fights all the time and putting on a disgusting show, I have reason to be dissatisfied with her.

What happened back then wasn’t an accident, someone did it on purpose! I can’t do what you do and have no issue with the daughter of an enemy.

I can get that though. Your family has always been harmonious, never having experienced my pain. You are naturally much more forgiving than me an even stand on high ground with a clear conscience and make more demands and hurt accusations at me, the biggest victim

The Jenkins family members were all left speechless

A sense of discomfort arose in their hearts toward Xena, and at the same time, they also felt a pang of guilt toward Janie

Xena clenched her fists tightly

But

Kathy stated with a sorrowful expression. Bon Xena didst do anything wrong. Janie, you shouldn’t this to her. She didn’t harbor any ill will toward you

Janie umiled. You are kind to your kids but harsh with me. You ignore their bad behavior while accusing me even if I didn’t do anything wTONE

Kathy seemed to want to argue but said nothing in the end.

The others also fell into silence.

Janie had already turned around, realizing she needed to leave immediately, she didn’t want to stay there for a second longer.

The members of the Jenkins family stood frozen, as if momentarily at a loss for words. They exchanged glances, their faces etched with confusion.

Zion let out a cold laugh and looked at Kathy with a hint of disdain in his tone, Mom, she’s totally uneducated!

Kathy looked disappointed, then turned toward her wellbehaved daughter, Xena.

But as soon as she did, she remembered that Xena was the daughter of a criminal, and a pang of distress shot through her

heart.

If it weren’t for Lindsey and her daughter, their family would have lived a much happier and peaceful life.

Ethan frowned and said to Zion. Enough, your attitude toward Janie is too harsh. Even if she’s done something wrong, she still your sister. She’s suffered a lot; you should be more understanding.

Still brimming with disdain, Zion retorted, She’s not my sister. I only have Xena as my sister!

Xena looked at Zion with a disapproving expression, seemingly displeased with his words.

Zion looked stubborn, unwilling to admit that Janie was his sister.

Exhausted, Frank rubbed his brow and said helplessly. Okay, everyone, get some rest. You guys shouldn’t be too harsh on Janie, especially you, Zion!

Annoyed by Frank’s words, Zion was just about to reply when he heard Kathy say wearily, All of you, go back to your rooms We’ll talk about this tomorrow.

Zion reluctantly muttered, Didn’t she say she wanted to leave? She’s still here. She’s just saying!

Ethan angrily rebuked him, Zion! You’ve gone too far! Watch your attitude in the future. Don’t say things like that again.”

Zion grunted and said defiantly, I didn’t say it wrong!

Suddenly they heard the door open. They followed the sound and saw Janie pulling a suitcase out of the door.

The Jenkins family froze as Janie quickly descended the stairs.

Frank’s eyebrows tightened, and he shouted, Janie, what are you doing?

Jane aid in a fint voice, Obviously, I’m leaving here. It’s better for you and me.

Jena suppressed her inner joy and hurriedly spoke. Janie, come on. Don’t go. Mom and Dad will be sad.

Janse didn’t pay any attention to her but placed a stack of cash on the table.

To the past two days, I have incurred some expenses for board and lodging, and now I’m doubling it all back to you. You have not treated me well, and I have had a hard time here, so I don’t owe you anything,” she explained.

Hearing this, the faces of the Jenkins family members turned extremely nasty

We didn’t ask you to pay us What kind of attitude is that?Frank said.

Without replying. Janie turned and walked away.

Stop there!Frank rubbed his brow and tried his best to be calm. Janie, stop being pissy, go back to your room. Keep your money. We don’t want your money.

Erhan followed suit and said, Yes, Janie. We all have made some mistakes, but we’re family. Let’s just talk. Why do we have

to be like this?

Janie shook her head, her voice calm. There’s no need for that. I just don’t want to stay here.

Kathy burst into tears, Janie, what do you want me to do?

She didn’t understand me at all, said Janie sarcastically in her mind.

I just don’t want to stay here, that’s all,she said word for word, I’ve had enough.

Zion frowned, clearly unhappy with her words, What’s wrong with you?

Janie gave him a look. What right do you have to yell? You disgust me the most here.

Aren’t you aware of what you’ve done? Do you dare to admit what you’ve

done?

You wouldn’t dare. You are a coward.

Zion was speechless and visibly embarrassed, his face flushing with anger. The others frowned at this.

Janie Someone couldn’t listen to this and tried to cut in.

Janie interjected, saying. I’m fed up with your criticism, and you have no right to judge me.

Tm frustrated these days. I’m tired of worrying that the future will be more of the same, maybe even worse. Sometimes it feels like life has no meaning. I don’t want to live like this.

I don’t want to cling to a wealthy and powerful family like yours, interfere with your family connections, or be a burden to

you.

Janie took a moment before adding. I hope we don’t cross paths again.

With that, she grabbed her suitcase and walked away with determination

Ryan and Ethan rushed to stop her.

Ethan rubbed his temples, struggling with a splitting headache. Janie, let’s talk this out calmly. You don’t have to do this.

Ryan chimed in, “Exactly. Where can you go now? Just stay here, okay?

Janie replied confidently. It’s a big world, and there’s always a place for me. Anywhere is better than here

Kathy was already in tears. Janie, you’ve really let me down! Why don’t you tell us what you’re upset about? Why do you

have to be like this?

Janie felt utterly drained. Tve already said what I needed to say. It seems like it didn’t make any difference

Looking at the two in front of her, she said firmly. Please get out of the way? But they remained unmoved.

Zion shouted anxiously, Ryan, Ethan, get out of the way. I don’t believe she’ll be willing to leave. Where could she go? To Lindsey’s place? She’s intentionally throwing a tantrum!”

Hearing this, Ryan and Ethan hesitated

Xena quickly shook her head at Zion.

Kathy called out. Do you really have no attachment to this family?

That’s right, Janie replied.

Kathy, now furious, said, Fine, Just let her leave!

After some hesitation, Ryan and Ethan finally stepped aside.

Wait

a minute,” Zion suddenly spoke up.

Just when they thought he might try to convince Janie to stay, he added, What’s in your suitcase? Did you take something from us?

The others shot disapproving looks at Zion.

Why was he trying to escalate things now?

Janie lowered her gaze and opened her suitcase.

With a hint of sarcasm, she said, Go ahead and check. Search your room too, so you can’t blame me. Getting to know you is the worst thing that has ever happened to me.”

What was in the suitcase was clear at a glance. Only her belongings were thereshe didn’t have much with her.

Seeing this, they were again at a loss for words.

Ryan hurriedly explained, Janie, we don’t mean that.

But Janie didn’t care about their true intentions.

They never could say what they meant anyway, and she had no time and mood to guess.

That’s it, I’ll leave.” Janie dragged her suitcase away.

Xena hurriedly pulled Kathy. Mom, how can you let Janie go? Where can she go alone?

Kathy wiped away the tears on her face. Xena, stop. From now on, she’s not my daughter. You’re my only daughter. We’re still the same as before.”

Xena barely hid the smile that was beaming but pretended to be sad. Mom, don’t say that!
