Janie’s basket had long been taken back by Jackson. Janie knew him well, so she didn’t ask for it back and just walked with him, occasionally picking up some firewood and putting it in his basket.

Without others around, Jackson felt much better and began to gather firewood with more energy. When they almost got enough, they met David and Emily.

David wore an expression that kept people away while Emily held a restrained grievance on her face. Seeing them, Jackson didn’t know what to say.

The moment David saw Janie and Jackson, his expression brightened. David said excitedly, “Janie, Jackson, have you finished already?” Jackson replied coolly, “Yes. We’re heading back.” David could only replied, “Alright.”

Xena and Ryan also showed up leisurely at the same time. Emily said with sarcasm, “Janie, your brother really spoils you, you don’t have to do anything at all.”

Jackson’s face turned cold and replied, “Don’t beat around the bush. I’ve said many times that I don’t mind doing this. Besides, Janie had been gathering firewood all along. What did you mean by ‘doing nothing‘? Are you jealous of her because David didn’t carry your basket?”

Emily’s face turned pale, and she opened her mouth, “That’s not what I meant. I’m sorry. I tried to get along with you but failed to express myself well.”

Jackson still said coldly, “If you can’t express yourself properly, don’t do that. We don’t intend to get along with you.”

[Every time David saw Janie and Jackson, he became a cute puppy. Poor kid! Why not let him join Janie and Jackson?], [Emily’s words seemed a bit weird.]

[I totally acknowledge Jackson’s attitude. It’s like whenever Janie’s involved, he becomes a firecracker. My useless brother only fights with me! God please. He looks so dumb.], [Really? Praising Jackson for that? He just bullied Emily, okay?]

Emily could only stay silent and wondered in mind, ‘Was Jackson mad? Shouldn’t he be more cautious as a top celebrity? Why was he so aggressive?‘

Emily was so pissed off, feeling that Jackson had projected himself as a good brother too much. Meanwhile, David quietly stepped further away from Emily.

Jackson turned and said softly, “Janie, let’s go.” Janie nodded and followed up. They walked past the Jenkins, not even glancing sideways.

Ryan felt a complex mix of emotions and stopped Zion before he could speak. Zion said intentionally, “Xena, why don’t you go back too? Ryan and I can manage this.”

Xena shook her head, “No, I want to be with you. I don’t want you to work so hard. I’ll carry the basket.” Zion sighed, “You’re the sweetest, unlike someone. But we don’t want you tired, just follow us.”

Hearing this, Janie and Jackson didn’t know what to say. Janie’s face slightly wrinkled, “Are they judging me?” Jackson’s mouth twitched slightly, finding such tricks extremely childish and not feeling a bit angry. He looked at Janie sympathetically and nodded, “They are.”

Janie got totally speechless. After Janie and Jackson walked away, Jason immediately ran to Emily’s side to comfort her, “Mr. Moore just defended his sister. He misunderstood you. Emily, don’t be angry.”
