Chapter 17
Ryan pursed her lips. He grabbed the green that Xena had picked and headed off to tit–fry them
Xena looked at Janie with envy Janie, Mr. Moure your meal look amazing
Jackson smiled proudly. “Oh, it’s nothing special. I’ve put a lot of effort into cooking for Janie. My skills may not be top- notch yet, but they’re definitely chef–level
Jarle just ate quietly
Kena and the others were taken aback by how Jackson boastful was
He went on, “Ryan spoils you so much, he must cook for you every day. So there’s no need to be so jealous?
Keria’s face stiffened.
Ryan silently clenched his teeth and quickened his pace.
Xena replied reluctantly, “We have chefs at home, my brothers don’t cook much, but they treat me well.”
Jackson shook his head. “We had a chef too, but we wanted Janie to enjoy food made by her loved ones. Looks like your brothers don’t care about you as much.”
He pretended to be innocent. “Oops, I’m just being straightforward. Don’t take it seriously
[Jackson really won’t get beaten? Hahaha.]
[He’s so mean. Xena is getting pissed off, lol]
[What’s so funny? He’s bullying Xena!]
After saying that, Jackson felt a lot better and the food smelled even more delicious.
He couldn’t help but start appreciating himself.
Xena’s expression turned dark.
But she forced a smile. I get it; maybe everyone sees things differently”
Jackson switched back to his cold demeanor and stopped paying attention to Xena
Xena glanced at Janie, who seemed unfazed by everything–just enjoying the delicious food Jackson had prepared for her.
Unable to hold back any longer, Xena said, “Janie, you’re really lucky. Is it too much trouble for Mr. Moore and the others? I can’t expect my brothers to cook for me all the time.”
Suddenly Janie looked up
Her blank expression only highlighted her beauty as she caught Xena off guard.
Inwardly, Xena gnashed his teeth.
‘She was kicked out of the Jenkins family. Why is she so beautiful? And Jackson is likely a simp by her side.
Janie didn’t respond, simply returning her gaze to her meal.
“Janie, I’m talking to you. Xena was annoyed.

Jackson frowned. “What are you yelling about? Can’t you see Janie is eating?
“It’s our willingness to spoil our sister. I know she worries about me inside. Let your brother to cook for you. Don’t pick on
us here”
Nena’s face went pale 11 didn’t mean that.”
She hadn’t expected Jackson to be so aggressive,
Sorry for losing my was of thought right away! I totally forgot what I was going to say Janie is just so pretty. I love her!
[Isn’t Jackson too mucht]
Llackson is just straightforward. How’s that too much?
[Don’t you think Nena is the odd one out? Did Jamie mess with her or something?
Llackson looks so cool when he’s protecting his sister) 1le talks so well, I’m really into him!)
Jason hurriedly said, “Mr. Moore, Xena is a simple person. Please don’t take it the wrong way.”
Xena looked at him with gratitude.
Jackson scoffed. “Redefining simple? You really are something else.”
Jason was left speechless.
Nena instinctively looked for Ryan’s help, but he had already vanished.
She felt depressed and turned to David for support, but he seemed completely unaware of what was going on.
Just about ready to cry, Xena said, “I’m sorry. 1-”
She covered her face and ran off.
Seeing this, Jason immediately chased after her.
Jackson thought, The world is complicated. I want to go home.
He glanced at Janie with pity, his earlier sharpness had faded away..
Janie patted his head. “Come and eat.”
Jackson nodded and smiled back.
Emily frowned. “Janie, aren’t you being too harsh? Xena is crying!”
Janie looked confused. “What did we do wrong? Should I cry too?”
Emily was speechless for a moment.
“I didn’t mean it that way. I think we’re all friends. You don’t have to be,” she explained.
When did we become friends? That seems way too fast and unreasonable: Janie responded inside.
Jackson jumped in for her defense. “We’re not friends. Don’t be a goose.”
Emily was choked with anger and didn’t understand why the siblings were acting so coldly.
