Chapter 138
Noah and John kept talking on and on, while Janie and Spencer, the ones being talked about, couldn’t hide their mixed feelings
Despite their tough exteriors, both of them were actually a little embarrassed
But Noah and John were too busy bickering and gossiping to notice, completely oblivious
In an effort to avoid losing composure in front of them, Spencer cleared his throat and said, “You’ve got nothing better to do, huh? Go back to Elderlands for training!”
Noah and John immediately fell silent and pleaded, “Mr. Alvarez, we are sorry.
John said. “Lunch is ready. Miss Janie and Mr. Alvarez, please enjoy.”
Janie raised her eyebrow slightly. “You two cook?”
John grinned, eager to please, “We’ve been working hard just to serve you, Miss Janie. Unlike Noah, though. He’s been nothing but trouble.” He couldn’t resist throwing in a jab.
Noah shot him a fierce look. “How have I been causing trouble?”
“Alright, I’m starving. Let’s eat.” At the mention of food, Janie realized she really was hungry.
Noah and John quickly made their exit, eager not to interrupt the couple’s time alone.
While they were happy to see Spencer recovering and being with Janie, they couldn’t stand being around each other. So, they sat back to back, avoiding eye contact.
Janie sat on Spencer’s lap, letting him feed her. She closed her eyes, completely content and at ease.
But there was still a tiny bit of shyness. Just a little! After all, she was Janie. How could she be shy?
Spencer looked at Janie’s sweet, bashful expression, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction. This was the life he had always wanted, and it was only the beginning. Together, they would walk through life, forever happy.
After finishing their sweet dinner, Janie and Spencer turned to find Noah and John standing in front of them again. They stared at the couple without blinking, unable to hide their smiles. What a perfect couple! They thought.
Janie shot them a look of disgust and thought. “Why were they acting so creepy?
Spencer also felt a bit repelled, though his face remained emotionless as usual.
So, Noah and John only picked up on Janie’s disgust. Uh–oh! It was way worse when she disliked them than when Spencer
did!
They both believed that Janie’s disgust wasn’t directed at them, and simultaneously cast a look of disdain at the other one. Then, their expressions shifted to one of serious determination.
“Miss Janie, Mr. Alvarez, is there anything you need?” Noah and John said, flashing smiles full of flattery
Janie almost laughed. She remembered how cold and distant Noah and John used to be. Now, after becoming her followers, they acted like this?
Was it because of her influence? No way! She was Janie, the picture of nobility and grace! It seemed being around her didn’t

always have an impact. How disappointing
Sensing what Jattie was thinking. Spencer pressed a finger to his lips, hiding his smile.
Janie quickly noticed and shot him a glare. “You don’t agree with me, do you?”
Spencer immediately shook his head, signaling his full agreement.
Jane smiled contentedly and ruffled Spencer’s hair. Considering his image in front of his subordinates, Janie didn’t say good boy out loud
But it was enough to leave Noah and John stunned. Spencer was being treated like this, and he actually enjoyed it? Noah and
he felt as if they were hit by a wave love. But they were truly happy, their smiles turning even more creepy.
Janie cleared her throat and regained her noble, aloof demeanor, “Your smiles are getting way too creepy. It’s fine at home, but you need to be more mindful of your image in public.
Spencer nodded. “After all, Miss Janie’s image is so magnificent. We can’t embarrass her.”
Jamie nodded in agreement. Well said, Spencer. No wonder he’s my pick, she thought.
Noah and John were left speechless. They wanted to say something, but couldn’t even say it out loud.
“Miss Janie is the best Noah and John both declared loudly, “We would never make her embarrassed!” Afterward, they exchanged a look of disdain for each other’s smugness and turned serious as they faced Janie.
Janie gave a satisfied nod. “Alright, let’s head out.”
Spencer nodded and stood up, extending his hand to help Janie up,
Noah and John were completely confused. “Where are we going?”
Janie glanced at them coldly, “Elderlands. It’s been a while since I’ve been there.”
Noah and John continued to look lost
Spencer could hardly bear to look at them. He thought to himself that they were really too dumb right now and said, “If you don’t want to go, you can stay here.”
As soon as he said that, Noah and John immediately sprang into action
Janie smiled. “I suppose you’ve already shared quite a bit of news with my other followers in the group, so why don’t you go check on them? Otherwise, they might not be able to sleep.”
Noah and John chuckled.
They had indeed already shared it with the other followers, who were overjoyed but sadly couldn’t be here. Noals and John feigned regret and offered some half–hearted consolation, only to earn their resentment.
Thinking about it, they shuddered inexplicably.
Especially Noah. In such a short time, he had already completely offended the Night Guard. They had even made threats to beat him up John had already proven they weren’t joking when he arrived and started throwing punches.
But Noah showed no fear and continued to march forward with determination.
Janie and Spencer walked ahead, leaving some distance between them and Noah and John. Janie naturally reached out and held Spencer’s hand, their fingers interlocking
