Chapter54
“You were just lying to me!” Abigail insisted.
Reginald stopped talking.
Instead, that indifferent, cold, and believe it or not expression
gave Abigail a very uneasy feeling.
One second, two seconds… until half a minute passed, Abigail
couldn’t hold it anymore, covered her mouth and cried, then
ran out the door.
When Adelaide thought Reginald was being too cruel, Evan
gratefully said, “Mr. Thorton, thank you.“”
Reginald took a sip of wine, “Just helping myself.”
She suddenly realized, it was Evan who asked Reginald for help.
The meal was over, on the way back to the hotel, Reginald took
a phone call out of the blue. After dropping Adelaide off at the
hotel, he said, “I’ll be back within two hours, and we can talk

split up at the elevator.
Coming out of the elevator, she turned the corner back to her room, only to find someone squatting at the door.
Upon closer inspection, Abigail…
Adelaide looked a bit numb.
Abigail stood up with a start when she saw her, “You can’t

She pursed her lips and blurted out confidently, “I know the person Reginald was talking about is you.”
Adelaide didn’t open the door, she just turned her head and saw
that she had already started crying.
“You don’t need to make excuses saying it’s a misunderstanding, saying you guys are just boss and subordinate relationship. It’s okay, does he really need to borrow your car, did he even treat
you to eight treasure rice just now! Anyway, I know that person
is you, you don’t need to guard against me, I’m not trying to force you away from Reginald, stop saying those brainless
things and give him to me.”
Abigail said everything in one breath, and even wiped away her
tears.
Poor but strong.
Adelaide choked for a moment and then asked, “So, what do
you want to talk to me about?”
“Can you buy me a drink?”
“Huh?” Adelaide didn’t react immediately.
Abigail pouted, “I sneaked out, my dad froze all my cards. And I
don’t want my friends to know I got dumped, too embarrassing, so… don’t worry, I won’t let you treat me for nothing, I’ll pay you
