Chapter200
Asked the nurse for an ice pack, Adelaide sat on the hospital
room sofa quietly icing.
She was not idle, she was looking at the takeout app.
Because she just found out that Reginald’s IV drip wasn’t
properly hung, she had to remove it temporarily. So now she
has to hang it back up, and it’s going to take much longer than
expected to finish.
So going out to eat was out of the question.
After much deliberation, she settled on a nice restaurant, got up,
and handed her phone to Reginald, saying, “Mr. Thorton, take a
look at what you want to eat.”
Reginald took the phone and picked a few things. Adelaide took
the phone back and quickly placed an order to pay.
She said, “It will be here in forty–five minutes.”
“Uh–huh, Reginald responded, then saw her turn around,
reaching out to hold her waist and guide her to sit on the edge of
the bed.

The next second he leaned over, took the ice pack, and checked
Adelaide’s face.
The swelling has reduced quite a bit, but it’s still very red.
He clicked his tongue unhappily.
Adelaide’s heart tightened, thinking he was about to get up and
hit someone again. She quickly grabbed the ice pack back and
continued to apply ice. “It’ll be fine tomorrow, it just looks a bit
scary right now.”
“They say bad things come in threes, how many more times are
you going to take the fall all by yourself?” Reginald was really
annoyed when talking about this.
He shouldn’t have just gone along with her.
Adelaide sighed, “I’m innocent too, I had no idea Finley could
just pull out a close uncle of mine at the last minute.”
“Otherwise, how can it be called a pleasant surprise?”
Adelaide choked, unable to argue back.
After all, this person is still her big benefactor, she should be
thanked even if just a few words.
Seeing her silent, Reginald narrowed his eyes slightly and said,
“Why are you quiet again?”

Adelaide replied with a standard smile, “Because you’re right.”
Reginald had a feeling of being condescended to, “Really? That
doesn’t make sense, after all, you can be stubborn even when
you have no reason in front of me.”

Adelaide choked again.
Luckily, at that moment Nathan walked in.
Adelaide quickly got up and sat back on the sofa.
Reginald glanced over, Nathan sensed the boss was not happy,
he forced a smile and explained, “It’s that Franklin guy
demanding to see Ms. Pierce. He said if she doesn’t see him, he’ll
refuse treatment and threaten to die in the hospital bed!”
As soon as the words fell, Reginald was already pulling back the
covers to get out of bed.
Adelaide stood up first and said, “I’ll go talk to him, Mr. Thorton,
remember takeout.”
