Chapter 19
Teresa got more excited as she said, “Unleash your charm and show your professional strength. Even if Reginald loses interest
in you later, at least you have the skills. You’ll shine in his team,
gain a foothold in Evercrest, get rid of Garrett, and break free
from the Pierce family. The process doesn’t matter. We want
results.”
Adelaide thought, “Teresa is indeed my bestie.
“She truly understands me.
“Teresa has a point. No matter how long relationships last, they
can change.
“Maybe Reginald just found the bet interesting and waited
patiently for three years.
“After all, for someone like him, who is used to getting everything he wants, the desire to win is stronger than
ordinary people.
“Even if Reginald loses interest in me someday, I won’t lose out. I’m confident in my profession. Joining his team isn’t just about the bet. It’s also a chance to use his team to boost my own value.”

The next day. Adelaide finished washing up and had breakfast alone. Her phone kept lighting up with calls.
They were all from Garrett.
She ignored them and drove to Orvenix Group to start her new
job.
Nathan guided her through the onboarding process. Since Nathan was Reginald’s right–handed man, having him personally show her around naturally drew extra attention to
Adelaide.
Some people wondered if she got in through connections.
But when they learned she was Adelaide, they immediately recalled the recent buzz. Adelaide and Garrett got married.
This made it even more puzzling.
People were wondering, “Didn’t the Pierce family say their daughter was not allowed to work? Didn’t she just become Mrs. Barnard? So why is she working now?”
Rumors spread quickly within the company.
At that moment, Adelaide was in the conference room. Reginald introduced her, “Adelaide is officially joining our team. Let’s work together from now on.”
Chapter 19
Adelaide bowed slightly and said, “Hello, everyone.”
While everyone was still confused, Reginald spoke again,
“Earlier, you all said you wanted me to poach Alicia. Well, she’s
Alicia.”
As soon as he said this, the whole conference room erupted.
Adelaide was also stunned. She thought, “How did he know I
was Alicia?
“Because of the Pierce family, I have to use an alias for various
design competitions. Until now, no one has seen what Alicia
actually looks like.
“Except for Teresa, I haven’t even told Garrett.”
She presses her lips together, wondering if Reginald knew all
her secrets.
Someone excitedly asked, “Mr. Thorton, are you kidding us? Is
Ms. Pierce really Alicia?”
Reginald sipped his coffee, speechless. “Why would I lie? Do I get
paid for that?”
Another bold person chimes in, “Mr. Thorton, could it be that
you got scammed?”
Reginald and Adelaide were both lost for words.
Adelaide keeps smiling, “How about I log into Alicia’s account to prove it?”
