Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 221

Chapter 221

Tristan’s POV

The door closed with a sharp click. That’s all it took that single suund for something inside me to snap.

I stared at the wooden panel Lysandra had just walked through, my vision tinged with red. The blood in my veins felt like molten steel, burning through every inch of my body. My wolf rose to the surface, clawing for control.

That’s her? The once highandmighty Ravencroft woman? Alpha Denton snickered, his voice grating against my ears. Now just a coffee girl

SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!The words erupted from me with such force that the windows vibrated. My Alpha voice slammed into every person around the table like a physical wave.

The room froze. Coffee cups rattled. Papers scattered. Several of the Alphia’s instinctively pushed their chairs back, their faces draining of color. One of themyoung Alpha Reynolds from the western territoryactually slid halfway under the table.

I rose to my feet slowly, deliberately, savoring the fear that suddenly permeated the air. Every movement calculated to maximize their unease.

You sit in my building,I snarled, planting my palms on the polished mahogany. You breathe my air. You drink my fucking coffee. And you have the audacity to insult someone under my protection?

My eyes locked with Denton’s, and he visibly shrank in his seat. The fool still had that halfsmile frozen on his face, as if his brain hadn’t caught up to the danger he was in.

Alpha Gregory, a heavyset man with saltandpepper beard, cleared his throat. Alpha Tristan, with all due respect-His voice cracked, betraying his nervousness. We simply find it curious why you’d harbor a Ravencroft in your territory after what happened during the war.

I shifted my gaze to him, feeling my irises burn with the telltale red of an enraged Alpha. What happens in my territory is my business alone. Who I choose to protect- I took a measured step around the table. And why-Another step. Is none of your concern.

The room temperature seemed to drop ten degrees. No one spoke. No one moved. Even breathing seemed dangerous.

But since you’re so interested in my affairs,I continued, voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, let me make something abundantly clear. Every word against her is a direct challenge to me. And you all know what happens to those who challenge me.

Alpha Blackwood, the eldest among them, lifted his hands in a placating gesture. Alpha Tristan, no one intended disrespect. We were merely surprised by theunusual circumstances. The history between Silverblood and Moonshade-

Is history,I cut him off. My fingers tapped once on the table; the sound echoed like a gunshot in the silent room. I showed mercy to her

family once. I won’t show the same to any of you.

I straightened to my full height, letting my gaze sweep across each face. If I hear one more word about Lysandra Ravencroft or her family from any of you, I’ll ensure your packs feel economic pressure like never before. Your children’s futures? Their education? Their opportunities?

Gone.

A collective shudder ran through the room. These men understood business threats far better than physical ones. I’d struck at what they valued mosttheir legacies.

This meeting is over.I walked toward the door, not sparing them another glance. Unless someone wants to test my patience further?

Silence answered me. I grabbed the door handle, the metal cool against my palm. Without turning around, I added, Remember this moment the next time you think about crossing me.

The door closed behind me with a soft click that contrasted sharply with the storm raging inside me. The corridor stretched empty before me, my reflection distorted in the polished marble floor.

Chapter 241

Where is she? Did the teave already?

Well, that was quite the performance.

I turned to find Varian leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest. His expression was too smug for my liking.

What? I growled.

He pushed off the wall, falling into step beside me as I strode toward the elevator. “Nothing at all, Alpha. Just wondering why you waited until after she left to defend her honor.

I jabbed the elevator button with unnecessary force. Watch your tone, Beta.

Of course.Varian’s lips twitched with barely suppressed amusement. I just think it’s a shame she didn’t see it. You were magnificent in there. Hell, I almost fell in love with you myself.

I shot him a withering glare. When did you start thinking it’s appropriate to comment on your Alpha’s personal matters?

The elevator doors slid open. I stepped inside, Varian following close behind.

Around the same time my Alpha started making decisions based on emotions he refuses to acknowledge,he replied smoothly.

My hand shot out, grabbing his tie and yanking him forward. You’re testing my limits today, Varian.

Rather than showing fear, his expression softened. She’s probably left by now, you know. If you hurry, you might catch her.

I released him with a grunt of frustration, straightening his tie almost as an afterthought. This isn’t about her.

Of course not,Varian agreed, not even trying to sound convincing. You regularly threaten economic warfare against allied Alphas over coffee shop employees.

The elevator descended swiftly, too swiftly. I wasn’t ready to face herdidn’t know what to say after that humiliating scene.

She thinks I set her up. She thinks I wanted her humiliated.

What floor is she on?I asked, trying to sound casual.

Varian tapped his earpiece. Security says she’s in the lobby, heading for the exit.
