Declan shot Marcus a cold glance. “If you are so worried, go talk to her yourself.

Marcus hesitated for a few seconds before striding forward.

By the time he reached Phoebe, the instructor had already led a horse beside her and was explaining safety precautions.

Sensing someone standing nearby, Phoebe turned her head and met Marcus’s concerned gaze. “Ms. Greene, this horse is not suitable for you. You should switch to another one, or you might lose control and get hurt.”

Marcus’s concern did not seem fake. Phoebe smiled and replied, “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Baker. But I have already made up my mind.”

Marcus frowned and said in a low voice, “Even if you are upset with Declan, you should not gamble with your safety.

Phoebe chuckled. “Mr. Baker, you are overthinking it. He is not that important to me.”

Without another word, she mounted the horse in one smooth and graceful motion, showing no sign that it was her first time riding.

Marcus froze for a moment, his eyes unconsciously following her.

She wore a deep red riding outfit that perfectly outlined her figure, her waist sexy. Her long hair was tied into a ponytail, giving her a sharp and energetic look. She was so stunning that Marcus almost could not look away.

Realizing he had been staring, Marcus quickly lowered his gaze to hide the emotions in his eyes. Just as he was about to speak, Phoebe had already ridden off into the field.

Declan watched her intently, his gaze fixed on the figure in deep red. Her long hair swayed with the wind, and even from behind, she was captivating.

This was a side of Phoebe he had never seen before.

In his mind, Phoebe had always been gentle and dependent, like a clinging vine that could only survive by relying on a strong tree.

That was why, when everything spun out of control, he was caught completely off guard. He realized he had never truly understood her.

Jennifer noticed Declan’s gaze lingering on Phoebe and felt an overwhelming surge of jealousy. However, she maintained a gentle smile. “Bianca, I want to go horseback riding too. Will you join me?”

Bianca exchanged a look with Jennifer and instantly understood her intention. “Sure, it has been a while since we last rode together. Scott, do you guys want to join us?”

Scott turned to the others. Seeing that no one was interested, he decided against it. “You two go ahead. We will wait here.”

Bianca and Jennifer quickly changed into riding attire and selected smaller, more docile horses.

The rest of the group sat in the viewing area, watching as the two slowly rode into the field.

The equestrian field was vast, and Phoebe had long disappeared from sight.

Ten minutes later, Bianca and Jennifer had also ridden so far that they were barely visible.

As they sat in the lounge chatting, Scott sincerely apologized to Declan once again. “Declan, I was being foolish before. I realize my mistake now. I promise I will not act that way again. Please forgive me this time.”

Declan regarded Scott with an indifferent expression. “As long as you stop being blinded by love, we will not have any conflicts.”

Scott was momentarily stunned.

Jan cast Scott a helpless glance before speaking on his behalf. “Declan, do not worry. Marcus and I already tore into him for this. If he makes the same mistake again, I doubt he would dare to ask for your forgiveness.”

Declan nodded and said coldly, “Tell your girlfriend to stay away from Phoebe.”

Scott and Ian exchanged surprised looks, each seeing the same shock in the other’s eyes.
