Chapter 118
Phoche furrowed her brow and said coldly, “Who are you? Why should we follow you?”
A man in black said, “Ms. Greene, we work for Mr. Richardson”
“You mean Declan?” she asked.
“Exactly,”
Phoebe asked in astonishment, “Is he in Luminis?”
“Yes, Mr. Richardson has demanded us to ensure that you come to see him. We hope you won’t cause any trouble, Ms. Greene,” the man replied.

After a moment of hesitation, Phoebe nodded and said, “I can go with you, but you can’t take Mr. White away without his
consent.”
As soon as Phoebe finished speaking, Yann chimed in, “Ms. Greene, I’ll go with you.”
Phoebe nodded. “Okay.”
The two of them followed the men in black and got into the car. Roughly half an hour later, the car came to a halt at the entrance of Luminis‘ largest hotel.
Once Phoebe and Yann were ushered to the entrance of the executive suite on the top floor, the men in black suits departed.
Phoebe knocked on the door and waited for a moment before it was opened.
Patrick saw the two of them, and his eyes showed no sign of surprise. “Ms. Greene, Mr. Richardson is expecting you inside,” he said.
Phoebe and Yann entered the room. Patrick halted Yann and said, “Sorry, Mr. White, Mr. Richardson would like to see Ms. Greene alone at this moment.”
Yann glanced at Phoebe with a hint of concern, but she responded with a reassuring smile, “Mr. White, it’s okay.”
After finishing her sentence, Phoebe turned to Patrick and said, “He has a chronic stomach problem and hasn’t eaten lunch yet. Could you please bring him something to eat?”
Patrick nodded. “No problem.”
Then, Phoebe pushed open the door and stepped into the room. Declan was seated behind the desk, perusing some documents. Upon hearing the door open, he looked up.
Upon seeing Phoebe, a hint of coldness flickered in his eyes. He set down the documents in his hand and said coldly, “Your audacity is growing. How dare you ditch my men and disappear for a week!”
Phoebe took a seat opposite him and said, “Mr. Richardson, I believed we had agreed not to interfere in each other’s affairs.”
Declan sneered and replied, “I never said anything like that.”
Phoebe nodded and stated calmly, “I was away this week to search for medicinal herbs that can treat your leg.”
“Who is that man outside? Do you really need his companionship when searching for medicinal herbs?” he inquired.
“He is Cynthia, who prescribed medication for you three years ago to heal your legs. That was why I invited him to search for these herbs with me,” Phoebe explained.

Doubt still lingered in Declan’s eyes. “Really?” he asked.
She replied, “Of course. If you don’t believe me, you can call him in and ask him yourself

On the way to the meeting, Phoebe had sent a message to Yann instructing him to pretend to be Cynthia, as it would be easier for Declan to detect any deception if other excuses were used,
Declan gazed at her coldly and said, “How am I supposed to know if you’re both colluding to deceive me?
Phoebe furrowed her brows and said, “If you don’t believe me, he’ll be treating your leg for the next month. You’ll see if I’m lying by then.
Declan remained silent for a moment before saying coldly, “Alright, I’ll trust you for now. But if I discover you’re lying to me, you know the consequences.”
Noticing the threat in his eyes, Phoebe smiled and said, “Lying to you means no good to me. I just want to help you cure your leg. That way, we can get a divorce as soon as possible.”
Declan’s gaze instantly turned icily cold. “Are you really so eager to divorce?”
“Aren’t you, Mr. Richardson? Aren’t you?” Phoebe retorted sharply.
Declan remained silent. He was in such a state of profound depression that he couldn’t utter a single word.
