Chapter 103
Declan’s voice was firm. “From now on, whenever I go out for a banquet, you are not allowed to sleep until I come home?
Phoebe rolled her eyes. “So, if you’re not coming back tonight, am I supposed to stay up all night waiting for you?”
“I won’t be gone all night,” Declan said.
“What?” Phoebe asked.
“I won’t be gone all night,” he repeated.
Phoebe didn’t pay attention to his seemingly reassuring words and yawned. “Alright, can I go back to sleep now?
When Declan saw her preparing to lie back down, unable to hold back his frustration, he snapped, “Phoeber
“What now?” Phoebe replied.
Seeing the impatience in her eyes, Declan clenched his jaw. “I drank tonight. Help me wash up
Phoebe took a deep breath, forcing herself to suppress the urge to throw him out, and helped him into the bathroom.
She squeezed some toothpaste onto the brush and handed it to him, yawning as she said, “Here.”
After Declan finished brushing his teeth, Phoebe grabbed a towel and roughly wiped his face, her touch so forceful it seemed like she was trying to scrub his skin off.
Declan frowned and coldly said, “Can you be a bit gentler?”
“Sorry, I’ve always had a lot of strength. I can’t control it,” Phoebe replied.
Once they finished, Phoebe quickly moved Declan back to bed, tucked him in, and turned off the light.
As she was about to lie down, Declan suddenly spoke. “Phoebe, I was wrong last time. I shouldn’t have doubted you.”
He had originally planned to have someone investigate the man she had been dining with, but he held back. He feared that if Phoebe found out, it would lead an even worse confrontation.
Phoebe remained silent for a long time before softly responding, “Go to sleep.”
The next morning, Phoebe woke up to find that Declan had already gotten up and left the bedroom.
After she finished getting ready, she left the bedroom and saw Declan sitting in the living room, on the phone.
He was dressed in a gray knit sweater and black pants, looking less cold and distant than usual.
Phoebe glanced at him for a moment before quickly looking away and heading toward the kitchen.
When she finished making breakfast and returned to the living room, Declan had just finished his call.
“Scott wants to invite you to lunch today to apologize. Do you want to go?” he said.
Phoebe blinked in surprise. After everything that happened at the Miracle Youth entrance, Scott still wants to apologize?” she wondered.
She thought about Bianca and frowned. “No need. I don’t want to see Bianca.”
Declan was silent for a moment before speaking. “Scott and Bianca broke up.”

Declan, somewhat helpless, looked at her. “I’m telling you the truth. And Scott wants to apologize to Cora, too. Actually, he wants to invite both of you to lunch.”
“Is he out of his mind?” Phoebe asked.
Declan was momentarily stunned. “You really don’t want to go?”
Phoebe eyed him suspiciously. “Do you really want me to go?”
“If you don’t want to, I won’t force you,” he said.
“Alright, then I don’t want to go,” she replied.
They ate breakfast in silence. After Phoebe finished clearing the plates into the dishwasher, she looked at Declan and said, “I have something to do today. I won’t be back for lunch, so tell the maid not to make food for me.”
Declan asked, “What are you going to do?”
Phoebe furrowed her brow. “It’s a personal matter. No need to report to you. But if you’re really that curious, you can always have someone follow me. That way, you’ll know.”
Declan’s eyes grew colder, and his hand unconsciously tightened into a fist. “Phoebe, I haven’t had anyone follow you.”
Phoebe said, “Then tell me. How did you know I was having lunch with a man last time?”
