I remained unfazed as I picked up the information, unsurprised. “Elena asked him to investigate.”

The file contained detailed records of Vincent’s activities and connections. Nothing I hadn’t expected.

Amber Stone shifted uncomfortably beside my desk. “Alpha Marcus, given the historical animosity between the Sterling family and the Blackwood family, Nathan Sterling might exploit Elena’s trust.”

I set the documents down with deliberate calm. “That’s her affair.”

the road.”

“That was you?” I felt a surge of gratitude. “Thank you for saving my life.”

Benjamin Hayes shook his head modestly. “You should thank my young master, Adrian Whitmore. He’s the

one who deserves your gratitude.”

The woman continued clinging to my clothes, repeating her plea. “Come home with me, Sweetheart. Please!”
