Chapter 43: The Evidence Destroyed
Chapter 43: The Evidence Destroyed
(Elena’s POV)
Hearing this, David was stunned. His young face went pale with shock and betrayal.
Recovering quickly, he was furious. He broke away from my hand and approached Sophia with rage burning in his eyes.
“You bastard! You clearly harmed my sister!” David’s voice cracked with emotion. “You promised to apologize publicly! How dare you go back on your word!”
Before I could stop him, David was kicked to the ground by Marcus before he could even touch Sophia. The Alpha’s strength sent my brother sprawling across the concrete floor.
Amber Stone waved her hand. Two Elite Guards behind her stepped forward to pin David down.
David struggled desperately, feeling wronged. “I did nothing wrong! She’s the reason my sister was attacked with pepper spray!”
His voice grew more desperate. “I have a recording as evidence! She confessed everything!”
Marcus’s expression darkened as he looked at Sophia. His golden eyes searched her face for the truth.
Sophia tearfully denied the accusations. “David forced me to say those things! He threatened to kill me if I didn’t comply!”
Her voice trembled with false fear. “He held silver to my throat and made me lie about Elena!”
I defended my brother immediately. “David’s k********g of Sophia was wrong, and I apologize on his behalf.”
!
My voice was firm despite my fear. “But he wouldn’t kill anyone. That’s not who he is.”
Sophia retorted sharply. “I was the one kidnapped! Of course you would naturally side with your brother!”
Her eyes flashed with calculated malice. “You don’t know what he’s capable of when he’s angry!”
Marcus grew impatient with our argument. He interrupted with cold authority.
“The k********g is a fact,” he stated flatly. “Are you defending a kidnapper, Elena?”
His accusation hit me like a physical blow. The mate bond between us felt strained and hostile.
Sophia, fearing David would use the recording to threaten her, subtly urged Marcus to take action. “Marcus,
he still has that phone with the forced confession.”
Her voice carried hidden desperation. “What if he tries to use it against me later?”
Marcus instructed the Elite Guards without hesitation. “Seize his phone.”
David desperately tried to protect the device. “No! You can’t take it! It has the proof!”
I sensed the importance of the phone’s contents. Something crucial was at stake here.
“Sophia, if you’re innocent, why do you need to destroy evidence?” I questioned her directly.
My wolf Cora growled uneasily in my mind. “What are you trying to hide?”

Sophia retaliated by accusing me of orchestrating the k********g. “Elena probably planned this whole thing to
frame me!”
David vehemently defended me. “My sister had nothing to do with this! I acted alone to protect her!”
His young voice cracked with emotion. “She doesn’t even know I was following you!”
Marcus ignored my concerns completely. He handed the phone directly to Sophia.
Sophia smirked triumphantly as she took the device. Her mask of innocence slipped for just a moment.
I noticed her expression and felt my heart sink. “What evidence is so important that you need to destroy it?”
Marcus dismissed my concerns coldly. “Are you referring to evidence of the k********g?”
His tone was final and unforgiving. “That’s all that matters here.”
“David wouldn’t have acted without a reason,” I insisted desperately.
Marcus cut me off with brutal finality. “Kidnappers don’t need a reason, Elena.”
Sophia then formatted David’s phone with deliberate slowness. She wanted us to watch as she destroyed the
evidence.
She dropped the device on the ground and feigned innocence. “There, it’s done. No more threats.”
David witnessed the destruction of his evidence and laughed hysterically. The sound was broken and
desperate.
“She destroyed it all!” he cried out. “Everything I had to prove her guilt!”
Seeing David’s state, I felt a sharp pang of heartache. My brother was breaking apart before my eyes.
As I moved to support him, the Elite Guards forcefully pulled us apart. Their grip was iron–strong and
unyielding.
I looked back at Marcus in alarm. “What are your intentions? You promised not to harm David if Sophia was
safe!”
Marcus remained unmoved by my plea. He pointed at Sophia’s head injury with clinical detachment.
“I never promised to let David go unpunished,” he stated coldly. “Look at what he did to her.”
He instructed Amber Stone with Alpha authority. “Send David to the Territorial Enforcement Station.”
His voice was final. “Handle the situation according to pack law.”
(God’s POV)
As Marcus led Sophia away, he completely ignored Elena’s desperate calls. Sophia cast a cold glance at
Elena over her shoulder.
A faint smile played on Sophia’s lips. Victory was hers once again.
As they sat in the car, Amber Stone asked professionally, “Are we waiting for Miss Elena?”
Marcus was about to answer when Sophia suddenly clutched her head. She complained of pain from being
hit with the silver–tipped wrench.
“My head is throbbing,” she whimpered convincingly. “The silver burned me so badly.”

Without hesitation, Marcus ordered Amber Stone to take her to the Northern Territory Central Healing
Institute first. He assumed Elena could find her own way home.
“Anyway, that she–wolf will take a taxi by herself,” he said dismissively.
(Elena’s POV)
When I emerged from the abandoned building, I saw Marcus’s car driving away in the distance. The red
taillights disappeared around a corner.
I was used to being left behind because of Sophia. The pattern was painfully familiar.
