Chapter 41: Consequences and Confessions
(God’s POV)
Chief Morrison emerged from his office with a grave expression. His weathered face showed the weight of years dealing with pack politics and territorial disputes.
He signaled to the younger officers to step inside first. The conversation ahead would require careful
handling.
As chief of the Northern Territory Pack Enforcement Division, he had seen many cases. But this one involved
powers far beyond what the Harrison family could comprehend.
The parents of the pepper spray attacker exchanged confused glances. They remained oblivious to the gravity of their situation.
Mrs. Harrison questioned Chief Morrison’s earlier words. Her voice rose as she reminded him of past favors
and her son’s mental condition.
“Chief Morrison, you’ve always helped us before,” she said defiantly. “My son is mentally ill. That should
excuse his actions like it always has.”
Chief Morrison’s face darkened with visible anger. “I’ve always helped you cover up your son’s crimes, but this
time is different!”
His voice carried a warning that made the other officers step back. “Your son provoked someone he shouldn’t have. My own position as chief is at stake if I dare to intervene.”
Mrs. Harrison remained defiant despite his obvious fear. “Who could my son have possibly offended that
threatens even your authority?”
Chief Morrison’s exasperation reached its peak. “The Blackwood family! He attacked the mate of Alpha
Marcus Blackwood!”
He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “I’m warning you against any further provocation of the most powerful Alpha lineage in the Northern Territory.”
Mrs. Harrison was stunned into complete silence. The catastrophic gravity of their situation finally dawned
on her.
(Elena’s POV)
As night fell, I awoke in my recovery ward bed. A familiar presence sat beside me in the dim moonlight.
I recognized Marcus’s imposing silhouette immediately. His golden eyes glowed faintly in the darkness,
“Why didn’t you inform me about your hospitalization?” he questioned.
I retorted without thinking. “Would it make any difference given your obvious priorities?”
I expressed genuine surprise at his presence. “I’m shocked you’re here when Sophia needs your attention.
Marcus looked irritated by my formal tone. “Why do you have to be so sarcastic with me?
I reminded him of our unspoken agreement. “We act as strangere in public. Our mate bond means nothing

remember?”
An uncomfortable silence filled the recovery room. The air was heavy with unspoken tensions and the lingering scent of moonlight herbs used for my healing.
I attempted to rest, turning my back to Marcus. But I could feel his intense Alpha gaze burning into me.
Finally, he rose from the chair. Instead of leaving as expected, he climbed into my narrow hospital bed.
His powerful arms embraced my smaller form. I was shocked by his boldness.
“Have you lost your mind?” I demanded.
Marcus calmly stated his intention. “I just want to sleep beside my mate.”
I was incredulous. “Do you plan to stay the entire night in the healing institute?”
He confirmed his intention. His unexpected behavior left me speechless.
“Why?” I asked with genuine confusion.
I recalled his past indifference during my previous illnesses and injuries. He had never once visited my
bedside before.
Marcus’s golden eyes were unfathomable in the moonlight. “I don’t understand my own motivations.”
He acknowledged something that surprised me. “But I recognize your growing impact on me through our mate bond.”

He then asked a question that made my heart skip. “Have we met before our arranged mating ceremony?”
My mind flashed back to Shadowpeak Mountain eleven years ago. We were both kidnap victims who had comforted each other during our darkest hours.
I remembered every detail vividly. His scared young face, his protective instincts even as a child.
But he had completely forgotten our first meeting. The realization stung more than I expected.
“No,” I denied. “We never met before our mating arrangement.”
Marcus was skeptical of my response. He pressed me further, grabbing my chin with firm fingers.
He forced me to meet his penetrating gaze. I maintained my composure despite the painful memories.
“If we had truly met before,” I countered, “someone as memorable as an Alpha heir wouldn’t have forgotten
such an encounter.”
I told him to leave my bed. “Take the separate caregiver’s bed if you wish to stay in the room.”
Marcus refused outright. “I dislike that uncomfortable narrow cot designed for visitors.”
As I tried to get up and move away from him, he pulled me back. His Alpha strength caused us both to fall together on the small hospital bed
Our faces were mere inches apart. His overwhelming presence and masculine scent enveloped my senses
I instinctively licked my dry lips/ It was a nervous gesture that didn’t go unnoticed.
Marcus’s golden eyes darkened with desire. His thumb gently traced the curve of my lips as our mate bond hummed with unexpected Intimacy.
Chapter 41: Consequence.
(Pack Nurse Rachel’s POV)
I arrived for a routine evening check on the recovery ward patients. I stumbled upon an intimate scene that
made me freeze in the doorway.
I wanted to interrupt and maintain proper medical protocols. But I realized I was witnessing Alpha Marcus
Blackwood and Luna Elena in a private moment.
Knowing the pack implications and gossip potential, I quickly took a discreet photo with my phone. I sent it
to my friend in the neurosurgery department.
Then I hurried back to the healer’s station. I had dramatic news to share about the supposedly distant Alpha
and Elena being intimate behind closed doors.
(Elena’s POV)
I snapped out of my daze and pushed Marcus away with both hands. “This is inappropriate while I’m a patient recovering from an attack.”
Marcus regained his usual cold Alpha demeanor. He agreed with my assessment and moved to the
uncomfortable caregiver’s bed across the room.
