Chapter 16: The Truth Unveiled
Chapter 16: The Truth Unveiled
(Sophia’s POV)
I pretended to be sincere, almost making myself believe the act. Elena simply smiled and said, “There’s no need, the truth will reveal itself.”
She left with those words. My expression stiffened slightly
Sensing the Alpha’s gaze beside me, my spine tensed. I looked at him pitifully and said, “Marcus, if I had known Healer Elena disliked me so much, I shouldn’t have come over…”
Marcus calmly withdrew his gaze, picked up Oliver, and said, “You should stay away from her in the future.”
The words were directed at me.
I was stunned for a moment, then lowered my eyes. A flash of coldness passed through them.
“Marcus, are you protecting Healer Elena?” I asked.
Marcus frowned tightly, not answering my question. He said calmly, “She has a heavy mind. Getting too close
to her will make you suffer losses. I’m doing this for your good.”
Hearing this, my heart cleared of the gloom that had gathered. I was no longer worried.
Even if that she–wolf Elena had the ability to seduce Marcus, so what? I had plenty of ways to get rid of Elena,
this menace!
I must become Marcus’s true Luna!
(Elena’s POV)
Late at night, I had just lain down to sleep when I suddenly heard movement outside the bedroom. The originally pitch–black bedroom was filled with dim yellow light.
I lay with my back to the door, opened my eyes, and saw the shadow on the wall approaching the bedside. I
remained silent and closed my eyes, pretending to be asleep.
In the past, I would wait alone all night for Marcus to return, but never saw his figure. After waiting too long. getting tired of waiting, and becoming disappointed, I stopped waiting.
(Marcus’s POV)
I stood by the bed for a moment, then took off my coat and tie and walked toward the bathroom. From
beginning to end, Elena maintained the same sleeping position, not moving even when I finished my shower
and came out of the bathroom.
When I lay down beside her, she became stiff for a moment. I was too close, so close that my breath lingered
around her ear
I noticed the trembling of her eyelashes but silently lay down and turned off the light. I never exposed her

I didn’t know when I fell asleep, but when I woke up, I was sleeping on the Alpha’s arm Such a situation had never happened before, and I was momentarily lost in thought.
Marcus was sleeping deeply. This seemed to be the first time he had slept in late in front of me
The Alpha’s straight body faced me, with a corner of the window gauze lifted. The porcelain–white light covered him in a hazy manner
For a moment, his outline was clear, yet also blurred. Quiet, languid, and noble all were his appearan
I thought I was dreaming and wanted to reach out and touch him. Until the Alpha slowly opened his eyes and I suddenly awakened, almost instantly sitting up from the bed.
After a few seconds of eye contact, I looked away “Sorry, it won’t happen again,” I said, getting off the bed and walking into the bathroom.
After I finished washing up, I was about to go to the dressing room when I pushed open the door and saw Marcus standing in my wardrobe area. The originally full shelves were now quite empty
Marcus turned to look at me, his golden eyes carrying some inquiry. “Where are your things?”
“I threw them away.” I replied without changing expression, having prepared my explanation. “Anyway, they
were all things I bought with my own money. I can dispose of them however I want, can’t I?”
The things I had packed and taken away were all my own belongings. The items belonging to the Blackwood
family remained untouched on the shelves.
Marcus glanced at the left shelf, where the jewelry and designer bags were still there. He didn’t think much of
“As you wish,” he said, taking a dark–colored tie and walking out of the dressing room.
I leaned back against the cabinet and breathed a slight sigh of relief. Even if he knew, he wouldn’t care, would
he?
(Sophia’s POV)
When I arrived at the healing institute in the morning. I immediately sensed something was wrong. Several pack nurses were pointing and whispering about me behind their backs.
When I approached and listened, I heard a nurse say, “I didn’t expect Healer Sophia’s fall was self–directed
and self–performed. Doesn’t that mean Healer Elena was wrongly accused?”
Another nurse replied, “Who told Healer Sophia’s mate to be Alpha Marcus? Being framed, Healer Elena could
only be unlucky!”
“Previously, Healer Sophia accused Healer Elena of stealing her bracelet. Now it seems it might
t also be…
The nurse’s words were cut short when someone nearby seemed to see something and urgently stopped her
from continuing.
The pack nurses saw me and looked at each other awkwardly. They had received gifts from me but now were
gossiping behind my back.
I hid the coldness in my eyes and walked toward the nurses‘ station, acting nonchalant with a smile. “What
video are you talking about? Can I see it?”
A nurse hesitated before reluctantly handing over her phone. Upon seeing the video, my expression changed

dramatically.
How was this possible! I had clearly deleted this surveillance footage!
“Who sent this video?” I demanded.
The two nurses looked at each other and shook their heads. “It was sent in the executive group, saying it was
to… clear Healer Elena’s name….
