Chapter 75: Hidden Truths
Chapter 75: Hidden Truths
(Marcus Blackwood’s POV)
In the desolate Western District Wasteland, there was a vacant lot for development, which had been empty, and there was almost no one nearby. At this time, a crane slowly started, and a man tied to a steel wire with a rope was suspended in mid–air, at least six or seven meters high.
Under the man’s feet was a huge glass tank that could hold an adult. In the tank were schools of black carnivorous fish with teeth as sharp as serrated edges.
The man woke up the moment he saw himself suspended in the air, shivering with fright. He shouted, asking who they were and to let him down.
I got out of the car, casually buttoning my suit, and walked towards the man. Crane Operator Blake slowly lowered the man, stopping just as his feet were about to approach the tank.
The man recognized my face and his expression changed drastically. I caressed the Eternal Bond Mating Ring on my ring finger, looking up at him with cold calculation.
“You would have had a bright future in the enforcement station with Director Harold Thornfield as your backer if you hadn’t done what you did,” I said, my voice carrying deadly calm.
The Pepper Spray Attacker’s face turned pale, and he replied that he did not know what I was talking about. He claimed he had already been punished and dismissed, asking why I wouldn’t let him go.
I looked at him expressionlessly. “What did Nathan Sterling promise you?”
The attacker denied knowing Nathan. I insisted that he did, but the attacker kept denying.
A bodyguard walked over and cut the attacker’s calf with a silver blade, causing him to cry out in pain. The blood dripped into the tank, and the carnivorous, fish, tasting the blood, thrashed violently.
The attacker looked down and realized that there were schools of these terrible creatures in the tank. He
screamed, asking what we were going to do.
Crane Operator Blake suddenly lowered him, and the moment his feet entered the water, the attacker felt a sudden, sharp pain. The psychological fear of being bitten and torn magnified hundreds of times, making the pain feel like being eaten alive.
When Blake lifted him up again, his feet were stained with blood, and every inch of his flesh was bitten beyond recognition. Every time blood dripped into the water, it made the carnivorous fish boil for a long time.
At this moment, the attacker was tormented by this intense pain and had no color left on his face. He trembled and opened his mouth, begging us to stop torturing him.
“You made the right choice to be able to bend and stretch,” I commented coldly
I waved my hand, and Dr. Vincent Kane on the side came over with a medicine box to stop the bleeding and
treat him.
Having been subjected to such torture, the attacker did not dare to resist, especially when facing a ruthless Alpha like me. His life was more important.

He confessed that Nathan had promised him that as long as he pushed the matter onto me, he would guarantee his escape abroad once things had calmed down.
I narrowed my eyes. “Were you told to blame me for David’s matter?”
The attacker dared not hide anything and nodded. He explained that Heidi Cross did not contact him on the phone, but asked someone to find him at the enforcement station.
My smile faded, and I coldly instructed Amber Stone. “Is Director Harold Thornfield about to be re–elected?”
Amber nodded, and I stated that the director of the Revenue Authority should be replaced. I left these words
and turned to leave.
(Elena’s POV)
Night falls, and the lights outside the window are dim. I came out of the shower, and the screen of the phone on the table lit up.
I walked to the counter and picked up the phone to see a message from Marcus. He was outside my house.
I frowned, walked to the window, and sure enough, his car was parked outside the gate. I closed the curtains and did not reply.
Marcus sent another message, asking if I was waiting for him to come in if I didn’t come out. Speechless at this message, I grabbed my coat, put it on, and walked out of the house.
I walked out of the yard, and the car lights were facing the door. As soon as I came out, I subconsciously avoided the bright light until the man turned off the car lights and got out of the car
I suppressed the irritability in my heart. “Why couldn’t you say anything during the day and had to come at
night?”
The man reached out and pulled me into his arms. I almost didn’t react before the man brought me into his arms. I put my hands on his chest, and the silk jacket suddenly loosened, slipping from my half shoulder.
Since Isabella drugged him on Margaret’s birthday, he had not been intimate with me. His nose slid over me.! had just taken a shower, and my body still had the fragrance of shower gel, the fragrance of lotus. Marcus’s Adam’s apple rolled, and his lower abdomen was tight.
I noticed his change and a flash of disgust instantly flashed across my face.
Marcus, holding back the anger in his heart, asked me how long it had been since his Luna had fulfilled her
mating obligations.
I laughed, sarcastically asking if Sophia hadn’t satisfied him. Marcus stared at me, his face unreadable.
I wanted to get out of his arms, but the man hugged me tighter, his breath wrapped around my ear, telling me
not to move.
