Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 243

After Yanni fed Lucy some fever medicine, he helped her change the cold towels on her forehead during the entire duration.

Aunt Yen noticed it. She immediately said, “Master, do you want me to help take care of Miss Joyce for you?”

Yanni did not look to be leaving as his gaze was completely focused on Lucy’s face.

“There’s no need, you can leave now.”

“Alright, let me know if you need anything, master.”

After Aunt Yen got out, she shut the bedroom door.

It was rare for her master to finally find a woman he loved.

It was uncertain how long Yanni took care of Lucy but it seemed the medicine was finally taking effect as Lucy’s forehead was starting to sweat.

“Hot…”

In a daze, Lucy instinctively reached out to pull the covers aside.

Yanni grabbed onto her tiny hand and said in a gentle voice, “Hold on for a bit, you’ll feel much better after you sweat it out.”

It did not take long for Lucy to be completely covered in sweat.

Yanni did not dare carry her into the washroom to bathe her as he was worried that she might catch a cold. Because of this, he took her completely soaked clothes off and helped wipe her sweat away with a hot towel.

As Yanni wiped her down, he paused for a moment when he reached that tiny red mole on her chest.

He was focused on that tiny red mole with a complicated look in his eyes.

Although he had never gone the full mile with Sam back then, he could clearly remember that tiny red mole had never been on Sam’s chest.

He stared at the tiny woman as he asked in a soft tone, “Are you actually Sam Joyce?”

It sounded as if he was asking himself and yet, it also sounded like he was asking her.

Yanni could not see any signs of plastic surgery on the face of the woman in front of him. Her face was very natural and looked exactly like Sam’s.

If she was not Sam, then how could anyone explain why she looked exactly like Sam?

The woman who was drifting in her dreams shivered because she was naked. She then nuzzled up against Yanni.

Yanni hugged her tight as he lowered his head to kiss her forehead. He then took a deep breath and mumbled to himself, “It doesn’t matter who you are, you’ll still be my Sammie.”

Yanni had never expected even in his wildest dreams that ten years after Sam’s death, she would return to him once again.

Even if it was a beautiful dream, he was willing to bear all repercussions.

It did not matter what price he would pay, he would never let go of her again.

If he lost Sam again, he would be driven mad.

In the Fudd family home.

Kush entered John’s study.

“Assistant Kush, you know about Heaton’s affairs the most. Tell me honestly, who has the heaviest grudge against Heaton?”

Kush said with a frown, “The person with the heaviest grudge against boss should be Yanni Quain from the Yash Company. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll do something so obvious like cutting the brake oil pipe. Besides, although Yanni would often butt heads with boss, it was also due to Sam’s death back then. However, Sam isn’t dead and not to mention, she has returned to Yanni’s side. Therefore, there’s no reason for him to take such a risk to cause boss to crash into the sea. If this was discovered, he might be sentenced to a life sentence or worse, the death penalty. As such, there’s no reason for him to do so.”

“Sam isn’t dead?”

“Yeah, Chairman Fudd. Aside from Yanni and Sam, the enemies boss made in the business world were nothing out of the ordinary. Besides, no one would gamble with their life just because of some losses just to take revenge on someone else.”

Madam Leah stared at her with a frown. She said, “Madam, it’s not even close to meal time and besides, even if it was, I should be the one cooking. You’re pregnant and should rest, don’t overwork yourself…”

Verian shook her head and forced a smile on her pale face. She said, “Madam Leah, I’ve made a promise to Heaton that I’d whip up a table full of food then have a candle lit on the table. I’m also planning on baking a cake to celebrate his birthday. He’ll come back after I’m done cooking.”

“Madam…”

Madam Leah could not stop her. She sighed as she went to tell Old Master Fudd.

“Master, Madam is working at the kitchen and no matter how much I try talking to her, she won’t listen. She’s desperate to cook for the young master and keeps saying that the young master will return… I know she’s sad and cannot accept it but she can’t keep going on like this. My heart hurts when I see her like that.”

The old man waved his hand around and said, “Just let her be. Perhaps she’ll feel better after that.”

The old man was wiping Heaton’s framed picture with his microfibre cloth.

Madam Leah shook her head. “Sigh…”

Verian was done baking a cake, made a table full of food, and even lit a candle.

When Nancy returned home, she noticed Verian was sitting alone while talking to herself.

“Heaton, let’s light the birthday candles now.”

After that, Verian placed the candles on the cake before lighting it.

Nancy could no longer keep it in as she strode over and furiously said, “What madness is this, Verian?!”

Verian was staring at a blank space as she said, “I’m celebrating Heaton’s birthday. He promised me that he’ll come home earlier to celebrate Christmas with me while I celebrate his birthday for him.”

Nancy smacked the cake on the floor and said, “Heaton’s already dead! Verian! It’s all your fault! Why can’t you be the one dead instead of him!”
