Chapter 94

Freya wasn’t done arguing with Skylar yet.

Skylar didn’t even glance at Freya. She turned around and walked away, leaving Freya standing there, trembling with rage.

Skylar wandered around the campus for a while but soon grew bored. Deciding not to stay any longer, she walked out the schoolgates and called her driver to pick her up.

The driver gasped, Oh, Ms. Skylar Lambert, you’re still at school?

Skylar nodded.

The driver explained, Ms. Freya Lambert said you’d already taken a

ab home earlier, so I drove her back first.

Sorry, we’re still on the road and I won’t be back for a while. I’ll have to call Ryder to pick you up instead.”,

Skylar saw right through Freya’s petty schemes. Freya was still upset about what happened earlier and just wanted to give her a hard time.

It was just some harmless little mischief, and Skylar didn’t want to make a big deal out of it or trouble the driver. With a shrug, she told him, Don’t bother. I’ll grab a cab myself.

When she got home, Skylar saw Freya chatting with a young man.

His sharp, chiseled face looked intimidating. His eyes seemed lazy, but there was a dangerous glint in them that made it hard to look at him.

But Skylar was undeterred. She locked with that intimidating gaze, not a hint of fear in her own.

Blake smiled faintly, Why are you just standing there? Come on. Have a seat.

Skylar sat across from him, studying his face. Blake or Joshua?

When Skylar first returned, Yana had mentioned she had three older brothers in the family.

But at that time, they were all away on business, so none of them were home.

Perhaps Yana wanted to wait until they returned to give Skylar a proper introduction. She hadn’t even shown Skylar any photos of them.

So Skylar couldn’t tell whether the man before her was Blake or Joshua.

Freya, still seething, deliberately picked on Skylar with a sneer. Skylar, how come you didn’t even address Blake? That’s rude.

Blake smiled and came to Skylar’s defense. She’s never met me before, so it’s perfectly understandable she didn’t recognize me.

Freya, as the older sister, you should be looking out for Skylar, not jumping to blame her. That’s not how an older sister should behave.

Freya’s eyes welled up instantly. Blake, I just thought/Skylar this long and still doesn’t even know everyone in the family?

you but was purposely ignoring you. How was I supposed to know she’s been back

I was only trying to correct her and teach her the fight way.

Skylar’s just come back and hasn’t learned any proper manners or rules yet. If I’m not strict with her, she’ll only make a fool of herself in public.”

As Freya spoke, her eyes grew redder, tears welling up.

Blake knew Freya all too well.

She was a total liar. That sweet, obedient act was just a facade. Inside, she had a venomous heart.
