Freya noticed his avoidance. She bit her lip, a little embarrassed, and quickly looked away.

She sat beside Yana and asked, “Mom, who’s this?”

Yana smiled at Freya and said, “This is Skylar’s new friend, Brada Fleur.”

Freya’s cheeks flushed slightly as she greeted, “Hello, Brada.”

Yana introduced, “This is my other daughter, Freya Lambert.”

Brada greeted her with a polite but distant nod. “Hello, Ms. Lambert.”

Freya tucked a stray hair behind her ear, her heart swelling with delight.

Brada’s voice was mesmerizing, rich and velvety, like the deep, resonant notes of a cello.

Freya put on her usual sweet and innocent act, but all the while, she kept stealing glances at him when she thought no one was looking.

Freya thought to herself, eyeing his obviously expensive designer clothes, ‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a man like this betonged to me? His family must be loaded, too.

‘If I could be with Brada, life would be just as good as it is with the Lamberts, maybe even better.‘

Perhaps she could even use him as a pawn to gain control of the Lambert family./

The more Freya thought about it, the hotter her chest felt.

Her determination to make Freya hers only grew stronger with every thought.

Brada paid no attention to Freya. At first glance, he instinctively wanted to avoid any contact with her.

The living room was thick with unspoken thoughts, each person quietly lost in their own world.

As Skylar walked in with Adam, Brada practically leapt to his feet, his eyes lighting up. “Skylar, you’re back!” he called out, unable to hide the excitement

in his voice.

He looked like an overjoyed puppy who’d been waiting all day for his owner, practically vibrating with excitement as he rushed to greet her.

Skylar nodded. “Sorry, I can’t keep you company.”

Brada smiled at Skylar and said, “Don’t worry, I’ve been having a lovely chat with your parents.”

They walked over to the sofa together and sat down.

Yana smiled and said, “Skylar, when you have time, why don’t you take Brada out and show him around? He said he’s been cooped up in his hotel room for days since arriving here, poor thing.”

Skylar’d been working so hard lately. This was the perfect chance for her to take a break and relax.

Brada was smitten with Skylar.

She thought, ‘How could he possibly fall for that bitch? Doesn’t he know Skylar’s been married before and even has a kid?

‘Why on earth does Skylar get all the good things? It’s so unfair! She doesn’t even deserve them!‘

Freya clenched her fists and glared daggers at Skylar.

She thought, ‘Brada can only be mine. He must be.‘

Skylar felt someone’s gaze on her. When she looked up, she met Brada’s smoldering stare.

Skylar quietly averted her gaze.

Brada grew even bolder, fixing Skylar with an unwavering, puppy–eyed gaze that refused to look away.

Carlos narrowed his eyes and deliberately cleared his throat.

Unfazed, Brada kept his eyes glued to Skylar, his gaze as clingy and devoted as a puppy eyeing its favorite bone, utterly impossible to ignore.

Carlos coughed even more pointedly this time, practically hacking up a lung in his attempt to break Skylar’s trance.
