Skylar immediately pulled out her phone and called security. “Security? Send two guards to my office right now and remove this lunatic

Being called a lunatic stung Bud into action. He lunged for her phone. “You scheming bitch! Think you can just dump me and walk away? Not a chancel”

Yosef grabbed his wrist. “Stop it!”

Bud struggled furiously but couldn’t move an inch. He screamed, “You goddamn gold–digging bitch and this bastard! Are you in this together to screw me over?”

Skylar shot him a cold look. “No one’s out to get you. You got scammed because you couldn’t tell what was real and what wasn’t. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself.”

Security arrived instantly, one guard on each side grabbing Bud by the arms as they hauled him away.

Only Skylar and Yosef remained in the meeting room.

Skylar shot Yosef an impatient look. “Why aren’t you gone yet?”

Yosef pressed his lips together. “He may have messaged the wrong person, but he’s still one of your admirers.”

Skylar shot back, “And your point is?”

“Why is he so hung up on you?” Yosef couldn’t hide his irritation.

‘Skylar is just way too attractive these days,‘ Yosef thought to himself.

She was like a magnet. Even just standing there, people would still flock to her.

Skylar scoffed, “How the hell should I know?”

Suddenly, a memory flashed through Skylar’s mind.

She thought, ‘Bud? Wait, isn’t he that delivery guy who used to come to our house?

‘Wasn’t he the one who had a thing for Freya? So why would he suddenly show up at my company and cause trouble?

‘Could this be Freya’s doing? Did they conspire to frame me and tarnish my reputation?‘

Yosef frowned at her. “You must’ve done something to make him latch onto you like that.”

Skylar shot him a look. “Excuse me?”

“I’ve done absolutely nothing and never gave him any signals. Clear now? Or do I need to spell it out for you again?” Skylar snapped.

Yosef stared directly at her and fell silent.

Skylar scoffed. “You should leave too. I’m sick of looking at you.”

Yosef didn’t move. He realized he’d upset Skylar. However, if he just walked away now, that anger would fester in her heart and become harder to resolve

over time.

Even if the anger faded, there would still be a scar in Skylar’s heart.

Yosef said softly, “Skylar, I’m sorry. I was out of line just now,”

Skylar brushed off his apology. “There’s no need for your apology, Mr. Campbell. Just leave.”

Skylar seemed to be growing angrier by the second. Not wanting to provoke her further, Yosef stole a few hesitant glances at her before reluctantly turning to leave.

As Yosef stepped out of the office, he ran into Adam and Victor, who had just arrived at the company.

Victor scowled at Yosef the moment he saw him. “What are you doing at Skylar’s company? Here to harass her again? Let me make this clear, you can forget about it.”

Victor said coldly, “My sister would rather be with anyone else than you.”

Yosef remained stone–faced, refusing to dignify Victor with a response.

He said, “Instead of threatening me here, you’d be better off investigating who’s plotting against your sister.”

“What?” Victor exclaimed. “You better make it clear right now, who’s plotting against my sister?”

Yosef gave Victor a dismissive glance, then turned on his heel and walked away.
