The director was thrilled. With a grand gesture, he announced, “To celebrate how exceptionally smooth today went, I’m treating everyone to almeat, and you all get half a day off!”

The entire crew, buzzing with excitement, headed out.

A flashy pink car was parked at the entrance to the film set, with a man leaning against it, clutching a massive bouquet of red roses.

Decked out in sunglasses and a loud floral suit, he looked for all the world like a peacock strutting his stuff.

He slid his sunglasses down just enough to spot Skylar, then sauntered there, Ms. Lambert. I’m Curtis Kim.”

Skylar sized him up with a cold glance. “Sorry, I don’t know you,” she said curtly.

“No worries.” He stepped forward, offering the bouquet of roses with a cocky grin. “Just remember this. I’m your number one admirer, and your soon–to- be husband.”

Skylar rolled her eyes and scoffed, “Are you out of your mind?”

“Nothing’s wrong with me.”

Skylar shot him a disdainful look and sneered, “You really don’t look like you’re all there. How about I pay for you to get your head checked at the psych ward?”

Curtis’s face darkened, his pride wounded by the humiliation. He snapped, “Don’t push your

luck!

“You should feel honored that I’m interested in you. If you don’t know what’s good for you, I know exactly how to break that pride of yours.”

Skylar sneered, “What big talk.

“Didn’t you even look at yourself in the mirror before going out? Don’t you even know what kind of trash you are?”

Furious, Curtis drew back his hand as if to slap Skylar.

Victor seized his wrist and snapped, “Who the hell do you think you are? Get lost!”

Curtis looked Victor up and down contemptuously. “Who the hell a are you supposed to be? Just some two–bit entertainer, a plaything for the masses. And you dare act so arrogantly in front of me?”

The police arrived in a flash and wasted no time hauling Curtis away.

The director cleared his throat, silencing the crowd, then instructed his assistant to take Victor for medical treatment.

Victor went to the hospital, while the rest of the crew went out for dinner as planned.
