Chapter 133
Yosef put him down, slipped the hairs into his pocket. “You’ve gotten chubbier. Looks like Mommy’s been taking great care of your
Adam had been diagnosed with a heart condition at birth and was always underweight, developing more slowly than other kids. He looked more like a 3. year–old than his actual age.
Yosef had tried all sorts of methods. He hired nutritionists and used traditional medicine, but nothing worked. Yet somehow, Skylar had managed.
He was genuinely grateful. “Thank you.”
Skylar waved him off. “I’m not doing it for you. I’m doing it for Adam.”
Yosef looked at her, thinking carefully before saying, “I know what happened five years ago now.”
Skylar gave a flat response. “So?”
Yosef started, “Elianna, she…”
Skylar interrupted him. “If you’re here to plead for her, you can leave.”
Yosef’s face shifted slightly. “I’m not. I just wanted to apologize for misunderstanding you before.”
Skylar’s tone stayed icy. “Not necessary. The damage is done. An apology won’t fix anything.”
Yosef pressed his lips together and didn’t speak for a while.
She asked, “You’ve seen Adam. Are you taking him back, or leaving him here for treatment?”
Yosef replied, “Let Adam stay with you for now.”
After chatting with Adam a bit more, he left.
He brought the three samples to Campbell Group’s hospital and had a trustworthy doctor run tests.
The doctor was someone Campbell Group had sponsored through university and later hired into their hospital. He was absolutely loyal to Yosef.
Yosef stated firmly, “I need those results yesterday.”
The doctor, Fabio Mathis, gave a firm nod.
Meanwhile, Elianna was anxious. She feared the situation might change. She wanted to get engaged to Yosef as soon as possible, to give herself some peace of mind.
But his attitude was vague, and she didn’t dare gamble on it.
If there was anyone who could make Yosef listen, it was his grandfather, Stephen Campbell.
Elianna thought about it and went to the old house.
She greeted, “Stephen, sorry to bother you like this.”
Stephen took a slow sip of his coffee. “Eliannya, what brings you here?”
I really have no choice anymore.” Elianna covered her face and cried. “Yosef, he…”

Chapter 133
Stephen’s eyes grew sharp and commanding. “Speak.”
Elianna said, “Our relationship has been dragging on for too long. The child’s growing up, and this can’t keep going.”
She added, “But Yosef doesn’t seem to be thinking about getting married. No matter how many times I bring it up, he shows no intention.”
Elianna wiped her tears, looking pitiful. “Stephen, I can handle being overlooked, but Adam can’t be without a mother.”
She added, “Yosef has publicly said he has a child, but no one knows I’m the mother. It’s fine now, but when the child goes to school, won’t others make fun of him?”
